Orpic.live ads (fake) - Tutorial
Orpic.live ads Removal Guide
What is Orpic.live ads?
Orpic.live ads imply system infections that are fake
Orpic.live is a fake website created by malicious actors to fool users into installing useless software
Orpic.live is another website developed by fraudsters for monetization. Most visitors get onto the website by mistake, either by clicking on a malicious link placed somewhere else or by having adware[1] installed on their computers. People thus don't anticipate what they see next, which considerably helps the effectiveness of the hoax.
Users would get a quick preview of what seemed to be a system scan by reputable security provider McAfee when entering the site, and results would be displayed shortly after. They state that the software's license has expired and that users must buy a new subscription and that the machine has been infected with viruses that need to be eliminated.
Everything presented on Orpic.live is fictional, and the website is just a plain scam used to deceive unsuspecting people. The scan findings are utterly untrue and shouldn't ever be relied upon. Clicking the “Proceed” or other buttons may also lead you to malicious websites where dangerous software links would be hosted, so stay away from these.
The site may also ask you to enable push notifications (to send you ads directly to your desktop) or redirect you to other websites that would ask you to subscribe to useless services, download malware, or provide your personal details.
Name | Orpic.live |
Type | Scam, ads, redirect, fraud |
Infiltration | Compromised websites, pop-up ads, potentially unwanted applications |
Scam content | Claims that malware has been found on the system and asks to purchase a security software license to remove the allegedly found threats. Also asks to enable push notifications and redirects to other malicious sites |
Dangers | Loss of finances due to fake subscriptions; redirects to other malware-laden, scam websites; installation of potentially unwanted or malicious software |
Removal | You should not interact with the content shown by a scam website. Instead, check your system for adware or malware infections with SpyHunter 5Combo Cleaner security software |
Other tips | Potentially unwanted applications often leave traces within web browsers – cookies, for example, are used for tracking. You should get rid of these leftovers with FortectIntego or employ our manual guide |
Common techniques used by scammers
Scammers employ a variety of tactics to get people to click on links that would result in software sales. One of the best ways to accomplish this is to scare them and convince them that their systems are in danger. The use of well-known names, like McAfee, Microsoft, or Google, is another social engineering[2] tactic so often used by crooks.
While most of the tech support and similar scans rely on showing a fake warning about viruses allegedly found on their computers Orpic.live authors go one step further and imitate a scan of security software instead, which makes the scheme more believable. Soon after a few fake infection triggers, users are shown the following warning:
Your PC is infected with 5 viruses!
ACTION REQUIRED
Your McAfee Subscription Has Expired!
Renew now to keep your PC protected.
If your PC is unprotected, it is at risk for viruses and other malware.
Numerous websites attempt to mimic this exact same scam message, for example, Stronger-protection.com, Essential-scan.com, or Bider.live. Therefore, you should always reject all of these claims right away. Only security software that is installed on the device can identify whether or not your system is compromised by malware.

Disable push notifications
While the primary goal of the Orpic.live website is to deceive people into clicking affiliate links, it also employs other forms of monetization if users consent to that. Upon entering, visitors are given the option to activate push notifications, a legitimate browser API[3] capability that allows for the immediate delivery of any kind of information to users' displays.
Unfortunately, poor-quality adverts are frequently delivered by fraudulent websites, along with fake virus infection alerts, get-rich-quick scams, fake Flash Player updates, and other scam-related content. We advise that you ignore push notifications from malicious websites and turn them off in your web browser's settings as follows:
Google Chrome
- Open the Google Chrome browser and go to Menu > Settings.
- Scroll down and click on Advanced.
- Locate the Privacy and security section and pick Site Settings > Notifications.
- Look at the Allow section and look for a suspicious URL.
- Click the three vertical dots next to it and pick Block. This should remove unwanted notifications from Google Chrome.

- Open Mozilla Firefox and go to Menu > Options.

- Under Permissions, you should be able to see Notifications. Click the Settings button next to it.
- In the Settings – Notification Permissions window, click on the drop-down menu by the URL in question.
- Select Block and then click on Save Changes. This should remove unwanted notifications from Mozilla Firefox.

Final step: find and remove real infections from your system
Most people arrive at the Orpic.live website by chance, although their risky behavior may increase the likelihood of it happening. Malicious links and scripts can frequently be found on high-risk websites such as peer-to-peer networks, unlawful video streaming sites, and other similar locations. Thus, we recommend avoiding these sites; an effective ad blocker could also shield you from phishing messages and automated redirects.
In other cases, adware might cause an excessive amount of advertising while browsing the web, as well as redirect to harmful sites. Those infected may not even be aware that they have a potentially unwanted program running in the background because they are not installed intentionally.
As a result, we advise you to run a variety of checks on your system to make sure it is free of adware or other unwanted apps. You can do this step manually, however, we advise using SpyHunter 5Combo Cleaner or Malwarebytes for an automated fix so you can immediately be certain your system is secure.
If you instead choose to find and remove PUPs manually, you can follow the instructions below. Checking system-level programs should be your first step, although keep in mind that programs installed that way can cause a severe impact on any system or may not even show up in the installed application list. If you are not sure, skip this step and rely on security solutions instead.
Your next task is to clean your web browsers for malicious components, which includes removing suspicious browser extensions and cleaning browser caches to prevent further tracking. If you rather perform this step automatically, we recommend employing FortectIntego repair and maintenance tool – it can also fix system damage that could have been sustained during malware infection.

How to prevent from getting adware
Stream videos without limitations, no matter where you are
There are multiple parties that could find out almost anything about you by checking your online activity. While this is highly unlikely, advertisers and tech companies are constantly tracking you online. The first step to privacy should be a secure browser that focuses on tracker reduction to a minimum.
Even if you employ a secure browser, you will not be able to access websites that are restricted due to local government laws or other reasons. In other words, you may not be able to stream Disney+ or US-based Netflix in some countries. To bypass these restrictions, you can employ a powerful Private Internet Access VPN, which provides dedicated servers for torrenting and streaming, not slowing you down in the process.
Data backups are important – recover your lost files
Ransomware is one of the biggest threats to personal data. Once it is executed on a machine, it launches a sophisticated encryption algorithm that locks all your files, although it does not destroy them. The most common misconception is that anti-malware software can return files to their previous states. This is not true, however, and data remains locked after the malicious payload is deleted.
While regular data backups are the only secure method to recover your files after a ransomware attack, tools such as Data Recovery Pro can also be effective and restore at least some of your lost data.
