After the installation Plugins Button starts delivering potentially dangerous ads

Plugins Button is an application that is presented as a tool that helps to access Google Chrome extensions. However, installation of it leads to ads attack and decreased browsing quality. It’s a potentially unwanted program categorized as adware.
This ad-supported application creates extension icon on the browser’s toolbar. Thus, users can quickly access installed add-ons. However, it has more disadvantages than advantages. The research revealed that this program uses a virtual layer to display intrusive online ads.[1]
Plugins Button virus can show ads in various shapes and forms. You might be disturbed by aggressive pop-ups, find strange ads on your favorite news site or banners that cover necessary content. Undoubtedly, advertisements are annoying. But they might also pose a danger to your computer or privacy.
If you intentionally or unintentionally click on Plugins Button ads, you might be redirected to a suspicious site. The research revealed that some ads promote questionable or fake software, offer useless discount coupons in order to get some personal information about users.
Adware might also redirect to promotional sites when you start typing URL address, click on the play button of the video or other content. The research showed that PUP might redirect to phishing, tech support scam and other potentially dangerous sites.
The best way to protect yourself from cyber criminals or malicious programs hiding under infected ads is Plugins Button removal. You might be careful and avoid clicking ads, but sometimes you cannot escape aggressive advertising practices.
Keeping this add-on installed allows developers or even third-parties track your steps online. The ad-supported program might be capable of monitoring and collecting various information about users. It is most likely to gather browsing-related information, such as search queries, clicked ads and similar details about visited websites.
However, developers do not provide Privacy Policy there they explain how they treat personally identifiable information and if they share aggregated details with third parties. The lack of these documents makes this application suspicious. Thus, you should remove Plugins Button in order to protect not only your PC from viruses but personal privacy as well. Irresponsible data collection and leakage might lead to identity theft.[2]
Plugins Button removal can be completed both, manually and automatically. However, we suggest opting for automatic elimination that requires scanning the device with an anti-malware program, such as FortectIntego. According to NoVirus,[3] lots of computer users fail to delete adware manually because these programs include numerous components that are hard to locate.

Browser hijacker might be installed silently
Authors of the program use three main methods to spread this application:
- official website;
- Chrome store;
- bundling.
The first two methods are clear. Users can install this program directly. However, it rarely happens. It seems that bundling is the main distribution strategy of adware.
This technique allows adware to travel with the help of freeware and shareware. The PUP is added as an optional download. If users rely on quick installation mode, they give indirect permission for adware to enter the system. However, it’s possible to avoid Plugins Button hijack.
In order to spot PUPs, you need to install freeware using advanced settings. Then carefully watch each of the steps. Once you notice the list of pre-selected additional programs, you have to untick boxes near them. In this way, undesired apps are prevented from entering your PC.
