Things to know about Search.searchlivesp.com search engine

Polarity Technologies, Ltd. has released yet another browser hijacker – let’s just call it Search.searchlivesp.com virus. Once it gets into the system, Internet browsers (Chrome, Mozilla, and others) will start opening Search.searchlivesp.com website all of sudden. This website says that it is associated with Live Sports Player software, and it can reach your system in a form of a program or a browser extension (or both). In short, if the Live Sports Player search engine appears when you open a web browser, it means that you have this ad-supported[1] software on your computer. It is very important to be aware of what browser hijackers[2] can do and not ignore them. When you first look at the website promoted by the described browser hijacker, you might start thinking that it is a basic search tool that provides some useful shortcuts at the top of the page. If you are a fan of sports, you might even start thinking that this search page is really awesome. We do not want to put your hopes down, but it definitely isn’t a good website, and we suggest cleaning your browser from shady extensions and other components that might be involved in keeping Search.searchlivesp.com as your homepage address.

The reason why we suggest deleting the described search engine and related components from the system is that it was designed to push sponsored content[3] for its users and not to provide relevant search results. What is even worse, we doubt that the developer of this strange search engine even cares about the reputation of websites that it advertises – we are afraid that some of them might be dangerous. If you decide you browse the Internet with Search.searchlivesp.com redirect virus installed on it, you might soon discover that your browser automatically opens pop-up ads, new tabs or reroutes you to websites filled with commercial content. One day you might come across an unsafe website that advertises a spyware[4] or even malware type program, so we advise you to remove Search.searchlivesp.com to avoid getting into a dangerous situation. We recommend using automated spyware removal tools for Search.searchlivesp.com removal – Reimage or similar programs.

How to avoid unintentional downloads?

If you do not want to end up with junkware on your computer, avoid visiting shady Internet websites and if you absolutely must visit one, make sure you dismiss all suggestions to install particular software on your computer. There are many suspicious websites that advertise spyware-type programs, for example, online gaming websites that ask to install their browser extension in order to play “premium” games, also websites that suggest installing “New Tab pages” or sites that urge you to install strange updates[5] immediately. Before clicking that “download” or “add now” button, think – do you really need that program or you just follow someone’s commands to do so? We think you already got the idea we want to express. However, as we said, you can install junk programs unintentionally, too. This mostly happens when the user downloads some free programs from the Internet and installs them without looking what is written under Default/Standard installation options. The vast majority of free programs spread third-party applications, browser toolbars, and other suspicious files, so it is an absolute must to review these additional items before installing your downloads. You can deselect additional items via Custom/Advanced settings in the installation wizard.
