Why does Tattoodle homepage appear on my browser?

Tattoodle (or Tattoodle.com) is a browser hijacker which was presented several years ago. However, it seems that this potentially unwanted program is still active. It keeps infiltrating users’ computers and causes unwanted changes on their computers. Beware that you can get infected with Tattoodle virus when installing free software on your computer. You must be especially careful with download managers, PDF creators, video streaming software and similar programs because they can be filled with this browser hijacker. Once it is installed on the system, this suspicious search engine drops its registry entries and executable files. Then, it changes the start page, the default search engine and a new tab Url. Beware that the result of these changes can be the appearance of Tattoodle.com and other search engines, such as Dogpile.com, Excite.com, Msxml.excite.com and others. The example of such pages is given below:

redirects All of them are considered “potentially unwanted”, so make sure you remove them as soon as they show up. Besides, you need to remove Tattoodle search engine with each of programs that are related to it, including the one that tricked you into downloading this hijacker. To make this process easier, you can use FortectIntego

Many users have been tricked into installing this application on their computers because they have been convinced that it’s from Facebook. However, this app seems to be far away from what this social network and belongs to “Make the Web Better” company that has been using its search engines for tracking PC users and collecting non-personal information. After getting on its target PC, you can notice Tattoodle.com redirect to seemingly-useful websites. In reality, these redirects are initiated right after getting more information about your search habits and interests. Please, do NOT stay on these sites because they can infect you with malware. The wisest decision you can make is to stop using this search engine. Otherwise, you can click one of its sponsored search results and find yourself on infected website. For a quick Tattoodle removal from your computer, use a guide given down below or simply install our recommended removers.

The first version of Tattoodle virus

How can I get infected with this browser hijacker?

Just like any other browser hijacker, Tattoodle spreads via its official website and third party download websites. However, not only download sites are included to its distribution. This program can also come to your PC in a bundle with other applications, such as freeware and shareware. This dishonest way of propagation can be stopped only if you check every installation window that comes up during the installation process of the freeware. If you see unfamiliar entries, you should untick them and continue your installation process. If Tattoodle hijack is initiated, it starts causing serious havoc on the system. You will start getting “please, change your search engine” and similar notifications during your browsing sessions and will notice tattoodle.com redirects from time to time. Besides, this page can start reappearing on every new tab which is opened on your browser. Please, do NOT ignore such activity. You should remove Tattoodle from the system without any delay.

How can I remove Tattoodle?

If you have been trying to remove Tattoodle from the system, you should start from running a full system scan with updated anti-spyware. We recommend using programs that are given below because they have been tested while trying this browser hijacker on our computers. Of course, if you are using a reputable anti-spyware or anti-virus, you can use it as well. Just remember to update it before a scan. If you don’t want to install anything, check a manual Tattoodle removal guide.
