What is TechGenie?

TechGenie is a questionable program that should be installed on the system only after thinking twice and paying some time for checking what are positive and negative sides of this program. It was created by iYogi and can be installed on the system in a form of AntiVirus or PC Optimizer. If you have already downloaded TechGenie PC Optimizer, the main thing that you have to remember is that this program can hardly improve your PC's speed. Yes, it will delete several hundreds of outdated registry entries but this won't have a great impact on your computer's functionality. By the way, some of its reports may include false positives that can be kept on every PC system. In addition, you should also don't be surprised after noticing that the most of TechGenie PC Optimizer features are disabled. Later on, you may start receiving annoying pop-up ads that seek to convince you into buying its Licensed version, which is filled with such tools as a duplicate file finder, backup, restore, parental controls, firewall, etc. Before you enter your credit card details and pay for these tools, look for them on the Internet. We can guarantee that you will be capable of finding these upgrades for free. Finally, you may start noticing ads offering you to call for iYogi's tech support that is not for free, of course. If you don't want to receive an increased telephone bill, you should stay away from such offers.

How can TechGenie hijack my computer?

Similarly to many other PC optimization tools, this program can be downloaded from its official website and other download sites. It has been installed on lots of PCs because of its user-friendly appearance and promising features. However, after installing this program on your PC, you may start noticing clear slow downs of your PC system, annoying pop-up ads, misleading reports about your PC's situations and similar inconveniences. Besides, there are lots of PC optimization tools that are spread using a questionable method that is known as 'bundling'. While we can't guarantee that TechGenie PC Optimizer is spread like that, you should stay away from suspicious alerts offering you to check your computer for free. In most of the cases, clicking on such ads leads people to the installation of suspicious programs. If you have already downloaded TechGenie PC Optimizer on your computer, it's up to you whether it's worth keeping it on the system or not. However, many security experts (PC World, and others) think that users should avoid this program. If you want to remove TechGenie PC Optimizer virus from your computer, you can do that with a help of these steps:

This company needs to be investigated! they have charged my credit card over $300 us dollars and have not provided anything but a hotline that is staffed by pushy salesman. 1 year ago I did a search for HP Printing Solutions and was redirected immediately to iYogi, who stated they were the tech company for HP. They asked for a connection to my pc so they could test the printer. while doing so, I could see many things happening in the background while this guy was telling me of virus(s) I may have and recommended tech genie to fix all of my computer problems so that the printer would work. One year later, I found out about a charge of $275, then another for $156. Now I cant get anybody on the phone to fix. Im going to contact TATA as I know the VP of USA Operations. They will put a stop to them.

This spyware is a sham. The phone numbers associated with the software are not even working numbers, so there is no support if you have any issues. Do not trust this software!
