Remove TrailerTime ads (Virus Removal Instructions)

removal by Jake Doevan - - | Type: Adware

Have you encountered TrailerTime ads? Do you wonder what TrailerTime is?

TrailerTime is an adware type application, and it is a program that can cause nerve-wracking experience. Mostly, this application annoys its victims because it delivers an enormous number of pop-ups ads. TrailerTime is a free application. Clearly, it has to gain income from somewhere. Therefore, it collaborates with companies that want to advertise themselves. Also, such companies seek to boost web traffic to their websites. TrailerTime functions as a tool to achieve that, but from the user’s point of view, TrailerTime achieves such aim in a shady and unfair way. It is so because TrailerTime pretends to be a useful program, which can provide movie trailers and also display excellent online shopping deals. However, such promises are nothing but vain; the real objective of this program is entirely different.

TrailerTime seeks to force its victims to click on misleading “ads by TrailerTime,” “TrailerTime ads,” “special offer for you by TrailerTime” and similarly entitled banners and pop-ups by displaying interesting content. By the way, did you know that TrailerTime can collect non-personal data about you? Yes, it can – it can obtain information about your browsing habits. Your browsing history, keywords used to search for information online, downloads and bookmarks allow TrailerTime adware program to find out what your interests are; as a result, it becomes able to generate ads that would look catchy to you.

Do not fall for such fake advertisements – the only thing they want you to do is to click on them. Commonly, such ads include redirect links that can end you up on suspicious third-party sites, which may be filled with questionable content or even infectious programs. That is why we do not recommend installing unfamiliar programs or updates from such sites. In our opinion, it is vital to keep an anti-spyware or anti-malware program on your system to secure yourself from unwanted downloads; also, such program can detect and remove computer threats and various PUPs that already exist on your system. We recommend ReimageIntego anti-spyware for that.

Questions about TrailerTime ads

Are you surprised because you cannot recall installing this app? TrailerTime, as a potentially unwanted software, may be transmitted to victims’ computers via bundling method. So it is not surprising that you do not remember installing such software. You should try to recall if you have installed another freeware recently. If you did, the only explanation of TrailerTime placement on your computer is that you probably have installed a free program not carefully enough. There are two most important things to remember when installing software to your computer:

  1. READ Terms of Use and Privacy Policies.
  2. OPT for Advanced or Custom, not Default or Standard installation methods.

Have you thought that Standard and Default installation modes are safe? In fact, no. These options hide several agreement lines, stating that you do want to install optional downloads. This is why you have to choose Advanced or Custom mode and then deselect such statements. In case you have already made a mistake and installed TrailerTime by an accident, proceed to the following page and find out how to uninstall it.

These ads caused by this adware are sooo o o o annoying! Is this program even considered legitimate? Also, does adware mean virus?

it is not a virus. it is an ad-based program, it is not harmful itself, but it is a tool to redirect you to possibly harmful sites. hardly useful at all.
