We-care Reminder – a shopping app with ulterior motives
We-care Reminder is yet another program that has been involved in the adware or potentially unwanted program category. It is spread via we-care.com that has already been mentioned on our blog. In fact, there is no surprise why security experts decided to warn people about this and help them to get rid of these suspicious programs using their anti-virus software.
There are tens of various discussions on the Internet where users report about the unexpected appearance of this toolbar and claim that they can't get rid of it. It initially claims that users can help funding charities just by having it installed, although there is no proof of such activity taking place. Many people claimed that they found We-care Reminder on their systems seemingly out of nowhere. This usually happens due to the careless installation of freeware apps downloaded from third-party sources. For example, while rushing the installation of an unrelated program, you might miss the following notification:
Express (recommended)
Install We-care ReminderBy clicking “Next”, you agree to the End User License Agreement and Privacy Policy.
Due to this practice, users often only notice the signs of infection much later after installing the adware in question. Unfortunately, We-care Reminder removal proved to be a real pain to many users due to the background processes that the hijacker initiates. Fortunately, a robust security program such as SpyHunter 5Combo Cleaner deal with this problem.
Additionally, many adware victims have also said that they have been redirected by this program to suspicious websites and that they are annoyed to death by its continuous pop-up notifications. That's why they have started calling it the We-care Reminder virus.
In reality, this program can't pose harm to your computer. However, you may start suffering from various pop-up ads, redirects, and similar inconveniences that can hardly be ignored. Besides, just like any other suspicious web browser plugin, it may start tracking you and may collect information, which is related to your browsing habits.
For example, this program may start collecting the following:
- search terms,
- mostly visited websites,
- data that you enter when visiting them,
- your email address
- PC location
- Internet Service Provider, etc.
If you want to prevent the loss of such information, you should remove We-care Reminder. The easiest way to do that is with the help of updated anti-spyware. After you find and delete all the unwanted programs from your system and browser, you should also utilize the functionality of FortectIntego to improve computer performance.
Adware is included as an optional component within software bundle packages
If you have already noticed that numerous pop-up ads labeled as 'ads by We-care Reminder,' 'brought to you by We-care Reminder,' etc., are following you wherever you go, it's a sign that this program has already infiltrated your computer.
In most cases, it does that with the help of freeware and shareware that is typically filled with various additional downloads. If you want to avoid the We-care Reminder virus and other unexpected plugins, add-ons, toolbars, and extensions, you should start choosing Custom or Advanced installation of the freeware.
We recommend this because clicking the 'Next' button all the time can easily help you to miss the sentence that 'warns' about the installation of these additional downloads. Also, carefully check every sentence that is displayed during the program's installation and look for the one that agrees with We-care Reminder's installation.
Finally, opt out of this adware by unchecking the checkmark that allows its installation. In order to remove this suspicious program from your computer, you should waste no time and use the guide given down below.

How to prevent from getting adware
Choose a proper web browser and improve your safety with a VPN tool
Online spying has got momentum in recent years and people are getting more and more interested in how to protect their privacy online. One of the basic means to add a layer of security – choose the most private and secure web browser. Although web browsers can't grant full privacy protection and security, some of them are much better at sandboxing, HTTPS upgrading, active content blocking, tracking blocking, phishing protection, and similar privacy-oriented features. However, if you want true anonymity, we suggest you employ a powerful Private Internet Access VPN – it can encrypt all the traffic that comes and goes out of your computer, preventing tracking completely.
Lost your files? Use data recovery software
While some files located on any computer are replaceable or useless, others can be extremely valuable. Family photos, work documents, school projects – these are types of files that we don't want to lose. Unfortunately, there are many ways how unexpected data loss can occur: power cuts, Blue Screen of Death errors, hardware failures, crypto-malware attack, or even accidental deletion.
To ensure that all the files remain intact, you should prepare regular data backups. You can choose cloud-based or physical copies you could restore from later in case of a disaster. If your backups were lost as well or you never bothered to prepare any, Data Recovery Pro can be your only hope to retrieve your invaluable files.
