CinPlus – a suspicious adware program that displays countless ads on all sites that you visit

CinPlus (otherwise known as Cinema-Plus) is an application that is compatible with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and other browsers. In most of the cases, users find this browser extension after they download and install freeware applications from third-party sites, although some parties may get tricked by the promised functionality – the enhanced quality of online videos from YouTube, Vimeo, and similar sites.
However, as soon as CinPlus is installed, users will see increased commercial content on all sites that they visit. Banners, in-text links, pop-ups, auto-play videos, and similar intrusive ads diminish web browsing experience for most, although the worst part is that the sponsored content might sometimes be dangerous. Users may be redirected to spam, tech support scam,[1] survey scam, phishing, or even malicious sites. Due to all these reasons, CinPlus is categorized as a potentially unwanted program and adware.[2]
| Name | CinPlus |
|---|---|
| Type | Adware |
| Category | Potentially unwanted program (PUP) |
| Versions | CinPlus-2.5cdTube HDV23.10 and CinPlus-1.4aiv27.10 |
| Infiltration | Potentially unwanted programs are usually installed via software bundles downloaded from third-party sites, although users might get tricked by an attractive ad or another content on various sites on the internet |
| Potential risks | Although PUPs are not considered a major security risk (they usually do not modify vital operating system files), they might expose users to potentially dangerous sites. Due to that, they may face malware infections, money loss or lose their sensitive data to unknown third-parties |
| Symptoms | Intrusive advertisements presented on all visited sites, sponsored links at the top of search results, occasional redirects leading to ad-filled, phishing and scam sites, changed web browser settings, slow operation of the browser, etc. |
| Termination | You can get rid of all potentially unwanted programs and malware automatically with the help of security tool like FortectIntego; alternatively, you can also make an effort to terminate PUPs by following our manual instructions below |
Online advertisement is a multi-million dollar business, and there are thousands of companies that want to get a piece of that juicy ad revenue. While there is nothing wrong with this model of monetizing, some programs that are developed to advertise expose users to potential risks online, and that is not how things should be. Unfortunately, CinPlus is one of those applications.
CinPlus does not perform malicious system changes as malware does. For example, it would not alter vital Windows registry files or shut down important processes. However, the application will engage in other activities – mostly via the browser:
- Place a virtual layer of ads on websites that typically do not show advertisement content (in some cases, they may be marked as “Ads by CinPlus,” “Powered by CinPlus,” etc.);
- Alter browser settings, such as new tab functionality or apply changes to the search engine;
- Displays sponsored links in the search results;
- Slowdown the operation of the browser when it is in use;
- Redirect to sites that promote dubious applications;
- Expose to online material that is inappropriate or offensive, etc.
Without a doubt, this activity can lead users to insecure sites where malware may be downloaded automatically (if users run outdated browsers or other vulnerable software).[3] Therefore, CinPlus virus is a possibility that users should not ignore, especially if they are not careful during their browsing sessions.

Another reason to remove CinPlus ads and other content are due to its ability to track users. PUPs usually gather browser-related data that is later used for targeted advertising purposes. In some cases, however, the gathered data may include personal details (such as email, name, home address, etc.) that should be kept private in order to avoid their compromise.
For CinPlus removal, you can choose security software like FortectIntego or another reputable anti-malware. Alternatively, you can also check out our detailed manual guide below.
Avoid adware – it can compromise your computer
As time goes by, security experts[4] analyze the potentially harmful effects of adware applications more. Most of them are indeed easy to get rid of, but some might engage in behavior that closely resembles malware, and researchers are constantly warning users about that. In fact, even official sources like Google Play are not free of such harmful programs, and industry analysts found malicious applications, but only after hundreds or even thousands of users install them.
Therefore, while the internet became a much safer place than it was 20 years ago due to security implementation by parties like Google, it can still lead to sensitive data compromise, data loss, and other ramifications. For that reason, the infosec community advises users staying away from adware and other potentially unwanted programs in the first place.
When installing freeware applications, make sure you read up online on the app first, as forum and blog posts often serve as good indicators whether the app can be trusted. After launching the installation wizard, you should lever skip steps and always read the instructions carefully: decline all the offers/deals on the way and read all the fine printed text. Most importantly, opt for Advanced/Custom installation mode which would allow you to get rid of optional components in time.

Get rid of CinPlus, CinPlus-2.5cdTube HDV23.10 and CinPlus-1.4aiv27.10
As we previously mentioned, CinPlus virus can potentially compromise your web browsing sessions and lead to unsafe websites. If you are looking for a browser plugin that can enhance your video-watching activities, you should find other applications that would not infuse your browsers with never-ending ads and would not track your every step online. There are millions of apps to choose from, and best would be to download them from the official sources, as such programs are regulated much more.
As of CinPlus removal, you can choose one of two methods: manual or automatic. The latter is more convenient, as it would only take you a few minutes to scan your machine for potentially harmful software, and it would be terminated immediately automatically.
If you want to remove CinPlus manually, you should check out the detailed instructions below.
