eTranslator is an adware app that feeds your browsers with ads

eTranslator is yet another dubious application that we do not recommend using. It's promoted as a user-friendly tool that claims to provide a high-quality translation service. However, this app is certainly not 'user-friendly.' Contrary, it may cause various inconveniences on the target computer and may even lead to privacy-related issues.
Since eTranslator belongs to a potentially unwanted program sub-category known as adware, the main goal is to deliver advertisements on Google Chrome, MS Edge, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox. These ads can come in various forms and shapes but usually show up as banners, popups, in-text links, or promotions. Besides, many security software providers detect this app as JS:Zadved-A [Adw] or Application.Vtool.ZCS.
| Name | eTranslator |
| Type | Adware, potentially unwanted program |
| Alleged purpose | Allow access to language translations |

| Related process | eTranslator.exe |
| Dangers | Installation of other potentially unwanted programs, personal information disclosure to unknown parties, financial losses |
| Uninstall | You can uninstall adware by using instructions below. Alternatively, you could use security software to do the job automatically |
| System fix | Malware or adware can cause serious stability and performance issues. Use FortectIntego to remediate your device and ensure that the virus damage is fixed |
This particular PUP may be distributed via third-party download websites, such as download.com, cnet.com, softonic.com, and so on. However, in most cases, it spreads bundled with various freeware and shareware, resulting in the unintentional installation of the app.
This way, it may infiltrate random computers without being noticed. If it manages to get installed on the computer this way, we highly recommend using FortectIntego and performing a full eTranslator removal from the system right away. That's because it's main aim is to promote predetermined websites and boost traffic to them.
For that reason, the program generates a ton of commercial advertisements, which usually inform about various deals, discounts, coupons, and similar things that are related to online shopping. No matter how appealing these offers may seem, we do not click any advertisements marked as follows:
'Ads by eTranslator'
'Brought to you by eTranslator'
'Powered by eTranslator'
'eTranslator ads'
While the links might not bring you to malicious websites where malware could be hiding, redirects might mislead you into buying useless services or installing potentially unwanted programs on your system.
However, you should keep in mind that adware is closely related to third parties that may try to spread other potentially unwanted or even malicious programs. Therefore, you should consider the fact that some of the eTranslator ads may be linked to unsafe websites. Even more, it may lead to privacy-related issues.
That's because this adware may install cookies and collect personally non-identifiable information related to people's browsing activities. If you are not willing to disclose your search queries, websites visited, data entered in them, IP and email address, and similar information, you should take needed actions and remove eTranslator virus ASAP.
Potentially unwanted program authors use software bundling for effective distribution
You may start suspecting the eTranslator virus to be hiding in your computer right after installing another freeware. That's because after installing a free program, you may start experiencing system slowdowns, annoying advertising, eTranslator redirects to unknown websites, and similar inconveniences. Such a situation may happen because this browser add-on spreads bundled with various freeware and shareware as 'optional download.'
To prevent installing optional components within software bundles, you should start checking freeware more carefully and pay an appropriate amount of attention to their installation process. Always select Advanced or Custom mode for installing every single freeware, and do not skip any notifications.
Look for suspicious checkboxes that contain various browser add-ons, plug-ins, toolbars, and extensions set by default. You have to unmark ticks notifying your consent to install eTranslator and its clones, such as:
- Deal2Dealit,
- IncludeMaker,
- Eppink,
- ShopShop, and many others.
If you accept any of these programs, then don't be surprised to start receiving eTranslator ads and other commercial messages during your browsing or experiencing other inconveniences.
