How does Catchem.newtab.online virus act?

Catchem.newtab.online site advertises Catch’Em All – Pokemon game application, which has no relation to the Real Pokemon Go game or its developers. This shady piece of software is developed by Linkury Ltd, a company that produces all newtab.online browser hijackers. It appears that Catchem.newtab.online browser hijacker is yet another potentially unwanted program (PUP) that spreads via software bundles and attempts to convince computer users to use a shady feed.newtab.online search engine, which delivers Search.snapdo.com search results. Both of these sites are known as untrustworthy search providers.

Once Catchem.newtab.online redirect virus gets inside the system, it adds Catch’em Pokemon Game extension to web browsers. This extension also adds a new menu bar button with a PokeBall icon on it. If you have noticed this button and if your default search engine has been replaced with Catch’em All search, do not rush to use it. The developers of this vague PUP are seeking to take advantage of the Pokemon Go popularity and convince fans of this game to use this bogus search engine. Sadly, it is not beneficial at any point, and it is used as a tool to make users click on sponsored search results and generate pay-per-click revenue. Be careful, as some of these search results can unexpectedly redirect you to hazardous third-party sites that might present infectious ads, links, or downloads. If you do not want to end up on such sites, we recommend you to remove Catchem.newtab.online software from your computer. For that, scan your PC with Reimage or another reliable malware removal tool. In case if you still hesitate whether you should delete it or not, remember that leaving this PUP on your system will cause system slowdowns and may expose your computer to numerous cyber risks.
