Reasons why Globallysearch.com should not be your default search engine

The picture of Globallysearch.com

Globallysearch.com is a suspicious search engine that might alter search results, take control over the hijacked web browser and track information about users. Due to these reasons, it is classified as potentially unwanted program (PUP) and a browser hijacker.

On the affected computer, this PUP might take control over all installed web browsers. It might alter browser’s shortcuts and change settings. After the hijack, users might find this domain set as their default homepage and search engine.

All attempts to switch back to preferred search provider and homepage address are designed to fail. The hijacker is created to reject all the changes made by the users. Thus, in order to remove Globallysearch.com from the browser, you may need to employ anti-malware program, such as Reimage.

This search engine shows results in nova.rambler.ru site that is also known as a browser hijacker. The main problem here is that hijacker might be capable of altering search results. Thus, instead of organic links, you might find tons of commercial content.

No one can argue that this activity is unfair. However, tricking users into visiting particular sites helps to generate revenue. Many webmasters and website owners are interested in boosting traffic to their Internet sites in a shady way. Unfortunately, some of these sites are potentially dangerous.

It's important to talk about Globallysearch.com redirect tendencies that are quite threatening. Apart from delivering sponsored links, this program might also display tons of ads. Once users click them, developers generate advertising-based revenue.

The research has shown that some of these ads are misleading and lead to harmful internet sites. For instance, you might notice a pop-up that asks to install a crucial update. Instead of updating software, you might be installing malware.[1] Or you might end up on tech support scam or other shady websites.

Therefore, having this program installed on your PC increases your chances to suffer from numerous cyber crimes.

Using Globallysearch.com may lead to privacy-related issues

In the Privacy Policy developers reveal that they might collect both personally identifiable and non-personally identifiable[2] information.

Thus, your IP address, location, phone number, email, browsing history, clicked ads, search history, and other similar data might be collected.

The main reason why tracking information is important is advertising. Based on aggregated data, it’s easy to build user’s profile and deliver targeted ads for Globallysearch.com users. Supposedly, interest-based advertisements encourage more clicks that turn into profits for the developers.

It goes without saying that Globallysearch.com removal is necessary to protect yourself from privacy-related issues.

Shady distribution method of the browser hijacker

Globallysearch.com hijack usually occurs when users download freeware or shareware incorrectly. This program spreads as an optional app in software packages.

The application may enter the system unnoticed if a user installs freeware under Quick/Recommended settings. These setups do not openly disclose about third-party software and usually installs them by default.

Bundling is common distribution method of PUPs. Thus, you should learn to install software correctly. Advanced/Custom setups reveal the list of additional downloads. Usually, these entries are pre-selected. Thus, you have to unmark ticks next to them.

If your browser is hijacked, you may have skipped pre-selected agreement to make Globallysearch.com your default search engine. Next time you should pay more attention to software installation.

Terminate Globallysearch.com virus quickly

There are two ways how you can remove Globallysearch.com from your browser – manual and automatic.

In order to get rid of the hijacker manually, you have to investigate computer’s system. It’s important to find all suspicious programs, browser extensions, and other components, and uninstall them.

Once you delete all hijacker-related entries, you should reset web browsers as well. This PUP may have installed publishers or third-party tracking cookies. Thus, browser reset helps to stop spying activities.

We want to point out that manual Globallysearch.com removal may end up with the failure. To avoid that, please follow our prepared instructions attentively. Additionally, you can opt for the automatic removal method.

You can remove Globallysearch.com automatically with a help of one of these programs: Reimage, Plumbytes Anti-MalwareWebroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus, Malwarebytes Anti Malware. We recommend these applications because they can easily delete potentially unwanted programs and viruses with all their files and registry entries that are related to them.
