GTFSISSETON Updater is responsible for installing adware on your computer

Example of GTFSISSETON Updater ads

GTFSISSETON Updater is a component of Vidsquare adware[1] which is responsible for displaying an excessive amount of advertisements on the affected computer. Just like the name suggests, the updater is responsible for keeping ad-supported application up-to-date. Thus, this component checks available updates and installs them.

This potentially unwanted program (PUP) arrives on the system in the software bundle. However, when users uninstall adware incorrectly, it might re-appear due to the GTFSISSETON Updater. If this adware-related component is left on the system, it can re-install the PUP again.

For this reason, it is recommended getting rid of this cyber threat using anti-malware tools. Reimage or another reputable security software can detect and remove GTFSISSETON Updater and other adware-related components from the system entirely.

You can suspect that your machine has been infected with GTFSISSETON Updater virus from these symptoms:

  • the increased amount of advertisements that are labeled “Vidsquare ads” or “GTFSISSETON Updater ads;”
  • redirects to commercial websites;
  • the appearance of the pop-ups that inform about detected viruses, available updates[2] or offers to download security software;
  • shopping offers or discounts popping up on the screen while you browse the web.

Security experts from the Hungary[3] warn about questionable data tracking activities that might begin after the GTFSISSETON Updater hijack. The ad-supported application is known for being capable of tracking various browsing-related information, such as visited websites, clicked ads, search queries, etc.

Aggregated information is used for delivering targeted ads that might be not only annoying but increases your chances to encounter dangerous cyber threats. The GTFSISSETON Updater redirect tendencies are concerning because some of the ads might lead to infected or phishing websites.

Therefore, GTFSISSETON Updater removal is necessary if you want to protect your privacy and computer from cyber threats. The detailed explanation how to uninstall adware properly is provided at the end of the article.

Distribution methods of the adware program

GTFSISSETON adware spreads in software bundles. It means that it might be attached to freeware or shareware as an optional component. If users do not pay proper attention to program installation process, adware might sneak inside the computer unnoticed.

Usually, the hijack occurs when users download free programs using Quick/Standard installation settings that do not openly disclose about additional downloads. However, the PUP might also get installed when a user rushes through Advanced/Custom installation settings. If you do not pay attention to the installation wizard, you might leave pre-selected entries.

In order to avoid installation of undesired apps, you always have to read notifications and make sure that you do not leave any pre-selected entries. Applications that spread in software bundles usually cause more problems than benefit users.

Uninstall GTFSISSETON Updater from your device entirely

We highly recommend automatic GTFSISSETON Updater removal in order to be sure that this component is uninstalled entirely. Professional and updated security software can quickly eliminate all suspicious entries from the system, including Vidsquare adware.

However, you can also try to remove GTFSISSETON Updater manually by following the steps below. But if suspicious ads and redirects continue, you should not hesitate and opt for the automatic elimination method. Scanning the system with an updated tool will ensure that adware is removed entirely.
