Remove King Translate (Removal Guide) - Jan 2021 update
King Translate has plenty of negative features
King Translate by Koyote-Lab Inc. is a program that allows translating words, documents, and texts. However, security specialists noticed that it has features of the potentially unwanted applications or adware apps. Once installed on the device, it might not only alter browser’s settings but display tons of ads as well.
While we don't claim that it is as dangerous as rogue anti-spyware[1] or ransomware,[2] we have to warn our readers that this program is spread using unfair distribution methods. Beware that it can infiltrate its target computer without any permission asked in a bundle with other programs. Due to this issue, users refer to this translator as King Translate virus.
Furthermore, King Translate might modify computer's settings after that. In most of the cases, it alters default search engine to www1.search-results.com and sets searchnu.com as a homepage without user's permission asked. These websites are highly suspicious, and you should stay away from them.
If you have noticed these changes, you should check your PC with updated anti-spyware and remove King Translate together with its malicious entries from the system because you may be infected with a more serious virus. For the elimination we recommend ReimageIntego.
Nevertheless, King Translate looks a useful tool; you should rely on other translation tools, such as Google translator.[3] If you have installed this program directly from the download websites, you probably have noticed an increased amount of online ads. Some users also report that they are repeatedly redirected to commercials or strange websites as well.
King Translate redirect tendencies are worrying. The researchers from Les Virus[4] noticed that some of the ads might be related to malvertising[5] campaigns or might lead to phishing websites. Therefore, you should be careful with this adware.
However, the best way to get rid of all undesired changes and minimize the risk of catching a cyber infection is King Translate removal. We have mentioned that you can remove it automatically, but you can uninstall it manually too (the instructions are at the end of the text).
Questions about King Translate
After the installation (infiltration) King Translate might change default search engine and homepage address.
How unwanted programs might enter the system
The program is promoted through its official website as a software capable of helping PC users to translate words, documents and entire texts to various languages. However, it has also been found that PUP can get inside the system in a bundle with other programs or misleading pop-up ads.
Thus to avoid King Translate hijack, you have to:
- avoid downloading freeware from unknown third-party websites;
- choose Advanced/Custom settings instead of Standard/Recommended setup;
- unmark all “additional downloads”;
- read official documents, such as EULA, Terms and Agreements or Privacy Policy before clicking “Agree” button.
