TabSent.com hijack
TabSent.com hijack Removal Guide
What is TabSent.com hijack?
What is TabSent.com?
TabSent.com is a deceptive search engine that may show up as your start page and default search engine without permission asked. Many people have already experienced such modification and reported us about that. Beware that most of the reputable security vendors categorize TabSent.com virus as a browser hijacker, a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and do not recommend using it. Even though it looks like an ordinary search site with a search box and quick links to popular websites (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Amazon, etc.), it seems to be delivering altered search results with an intention to drive visitors' traffic to predetermined websites and increase their rank. However, TabSent.com redirect virus is closely related to third parties, which may be involved in suspicious activities, such as virus or malware distribution. Thus, by making searches with this search site you risk exposing your PC to unsafe websites and catching another computer infection without even realizing that. In addition to that, this deceptive browser hijacker may also be used for tracking you and collecting non-personally identifiable information about you (PC's IP address, location, email address, search terms, websites visited, data entered in them, etc.). Be very careful since cyber criminals can easily exploit such and similar PUPs and misuse cookies for tracking collecting sensitive information. Finally, you have to beware that TabSent.com virus may also cause system slowdowns, increase security vulnerabilities, corrupt various settings, including DNS on all most popular web browsers, and so on. If that has already happened, we highly recommend you to scan your computer with a reputable anti-spyware, such as FortectIntego and remove TabSent.com virus right away.
How can TabSent.com hijack my computer?
TabSent.com spreads as a browser toolbar along with various freewares (download managers, PDF creators, media players, etc.). In most of the cases, it is promoted as a useful search engine capable of returning reliable search results and providing people user-friendly quick links. Unfortunately, we highly recommend you to opt out of it without any hesitation keeping in mind that it may deliver altered search results, fill them with irritating advertisements, track you and so on. To prevent installing this browser hijacker and its clones (Omiga Plus, Jogostempo.com, SafeSearch.net, etc.), you should be more careful while installing freewares. You have to remember that third-party app, such as browser add-ons, plug-ins, toolbars, and extensions are usually disclosed in a misleading manner and set by default. Unless you read everything carefully and unmark ticks that are already marked for you, TabSent.com may hijack Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer and start a serious havoc on each of them. We will give a couple of examples how potentially unwanted programs may be promoted during freeware installation, e.g. “Make TabSent.com as my Homepage and default search engine on Google Chrome, IE, and Mozilla Firefox”, “I agree to install TabSent”, “By clicking the “Next” you confirm that you have read and agreed to the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy of TabSent.com.” In order to spot such offers and opt out of them, you have to select Advanced or Custom installation and carefully monitor the entire installation process.

How to prevent from getting browser hijacker
Stream videos without limitations, no matter where you are
There are multiple parties that could find out almost anything about you by checking your online activity. While this is highly unlikely, advertisers and tech companies are constantly tracking you online. The first step to privacy should be a secure browser that focuses on tracker reduction to a minimum.
Even if you employ a secure browser, you will not be able to access websites that are restricted due to local government laws or other reasons. In other words, you may not be able to stream Disney+ or US-based Netflix in some countries. To bypass these restrictions, you can employ a powerful Private Internet Access VPN, which provides dedicated servers for torrenting and streaming, not slowing you down in the process.
Data backups are important – recover your lost files
Ransomware is one of the biggest threats to personal data. Once it is executed on a machine, it launches a sophisticated encryption algorithm that locks all your files, although it does not destroy them. The most common misconception is that anti-malware software can return files to their previous states. This is not true, however, and data remains locked after the malicious payload is deleted.
While regular data backups are the only secure method to recover your files after a ransomware attack, tools such as Data Recovery Pro can also be effective and restore at least some of your lost data.
