Websearch.allsearches.info hijack: what it is and how to deal with it

Websearch.allsearches.info

Websearch.allsearches.info is classified as a browser hijacker. These programs, that are either installed on the computer or a browser, are not malicious, although they have plenty of undesired features and perform relatively deceptive activities on the machines. The main problem is that a potentially unwanted program is not typically installed intentionally due to a software bundling marketing scheme.

On the computer, the hijacker attaches to Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or another web browser and changes its homepage, new tab address, etc. From that point, users would be bothered with altered and sponsored search results, and their online activities will be monitored. Thus, for better privacy and more quality browsing, uninstall the related app.

The main problem with this search engine is that it may show you altered search results and try to redirect you to unknown websites that typically promote various third-party products and services. Most of these should be relatively secure, although you should keep in mind that the PUP alters how you browse the web during your searches (which may make it more difficult to find what you are looking for).

Usually, this program gets installed without warning its users about that because it travels bundled with free programs and installed when users do not pay enough attention to their installation process. Later, it may change the homepage and default search engine to Websearch.allsearches.info and then may start taking control over the user's search sessions.

If you rely on this search engine and try to look for information with its help, you may be very disappointed and experience serious computer-related issues.

Moreover, the PUP may try to record your browsing activities. Here's the data that may be transferred to third parties:

  • IP address
  • ISP
  • Geolocation
  • Visited websites and links clicked
  • Search queries
  • Technical device data and unique identifiers, etc.

While most of this data is not considered to be personal (although IP address is indeed not considered to be anonymous data in multiple US States and countries), you should always be aware you share your data with. Keep in mind that browser hijacker authors often share it with other parties for more profits.

Websearch.allsearches.info browser hijacker from your system and restore previous settings in order to avoid various problems. For that, you can use SpyHunterCombo Cleaner or another reputable anti-malware.

Browser hijackers are optional components within a software bundle

Even though this web address can be accessed through the browser, you shouldn't think that it's a reliable search engine that can be used for searching the web. That's because this program is mostly spread bundled with free programs and then used for suspicious activities.

Even if it may try to convince you that it is related to Google search and that it's a trustful search engine, you should rely on other search sites instead of this one. Otherwise, you may experience redirects to an unsafe website and end up installing a malicious program.

To avoid downloading potentially unwanted programs that are very commonly distributed along with free programs these days, you should be more attentive while installing new programs on your system. Additional programs cannot be seen anywhere else except on the installation process of a free program.

You may notice suggestions to change the homepage or default search engine. However, we do not recommend doing so because you may accept the installation of this and other questionable programs.

Remove Websearch.allsearches.info by uninstalling related apps

We recommend using reliable anti-spyware to remove this browser hijacker because it may install related registry entries alongside and show up on your computer even if you remove them from Control Panel. Also, there could be many different programs that set this URL to your web browser, so it might be difficult to determine which one is causing browser redirects.

Keep in mind that cleaning web browsers is an important part of the removal process. PUPs leave cookies and web data on browsers, which may result in continual activities of the hijacker.
