Dailybibleverses.co – a browser hijacker that tries to appeal to Christian computer users

Search.dailybibleverses.co is a website URL that you might encounter one day after opening your Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or another web browser. While it may come as a surprise, this change is usually prompted by an installation of an extension known as Daily Bible Verses Toolbar by Polarity Technologies Ltd.
This usually happens due to stealthy distribution technique known as software bundling – many users install PUPs inadvertently due to it. Once inside, the app will append its own homepage and redirect search results to Yahoo, which is a legitimate provider. Despite that, users might see several sponsored links at the top – and these come from the hijacker.
| Name | Search.dailybibleverses.co |
| Type | Browser hijacker |

| Symptoms | Daily Bible Verses Toolbar installed on the web browser; all searchers are redirected to Yahoo and ads inserted at the top; homepage and new tab altered |

| Browser fix | Once the toolbar is removed, you should also clean your web browser data and cookies. Follow the guidelines below or employ FortectIntego for a quicker solution |
Religion, a unique theme of this hijacker, prompts users to click on links to Bible readings. While this may seem rather unusual, it is important to remember that the developers are known for other apps that tend to appeal to different groups of people – they focus on driving, weather, document access, and much more. Some examples include Search Encrypt, Search.hmylocaltransit.co, and Myloginhelper.com.
Neither of the search engines of this company is malicious. They are all rated positively. It seems that the company aims to make its search tools universal. Mainly they concentrate on these topics:
- Movie streaming sites
- Shopping domains
- News
- Weather forecast
- Games
The main troublesome effect of their products that they might frustrate users with excessive advertising[1]. However, the relation to Safer Browser hijacker should not be forgotten. While this hijacker does not display any direct links to the mentioned browser malware, such relation only diminishes the impression about these search tools.
You might also dislike that the search tool shares the collected data about your browsing habits with its business partners. As a result, more commercial pop-ups might distract your attention during the browsing sessions.
Since the company cooperates with several third parties, it is possible that some of their websites might be poorly protected from virtual threats[2]. Such assumption is more likely since the very website of Daily Bible Verses does not contain an HTTPS protocol.
Therefore, it would be wiser to remove search.dailybibleverses.co from the browser rather than keep it. Scan the computer with FortectIntego, MalwarebytesMalwarebytes, or another tool that would delete the web scripts of the PUP.

PUP transmission trends
Speaking of Polarity Technologies products, they all have their own official websites. In addition, the promotion links of these apps might be placed in sponsored domains as well.
It is possible that the app might be promoted as an add-on to free programs. Therefore, despite what program you download from what source, always opt for “Advanced” or “Custom” settings. They disclose optional programs which you can then easily unmark. Also, watch out for misplaced buttons and deceptive offers on the way. Keep in mind that vigilance is crucial while installing new programs.
Eliminate Search.dailybibleverses.co from your browser
You can delete the PUP easily – it should not pose any difficulties. Since this application is usually attached to your web browser, it means that this is the main area you should be focusing on.
