AdDriller review
AdDriller, made by CDMworld Software company, is claimed to be “the ultimate solution to stop virus, adware and malware. However, such assertion is doubtful. AdDriller doesn’t work as intended and even can damage your software.
We have installed AdDriller and performed full system scan of our test system, infected with several spyware and adware programs. AdDriller scanned the system and found several suspicious registry entries and files, while reputable spyware removers recognized hundreds of objects related to installed malware. Furthermore, AdDriller uses false positives. It reported that files related to fully legitimate licensed applications, such as Mathsoft’s Mathcad or games, made by Electronic Arts, are malicious and should be removed. It is obvious that AdDriller’s definitions database and scanning technique are incorrect.
AdDriller include the ability to update its definitions database via the Internet. However, such function doesn’t work. Application simply stops responding.
We have tested free version of AdDriller that can be downloaded from the official site – addriller.com. Program’s developers call it “trial”. As you know, the real trial includes all functions, found in full version, but works only for certain period of time. Then it asks to uninstall it or purchase full version. Generally speaking, free version of AdDriller cannot be called trial. It refuses to remove any found parasite and asks to register and purchase full version.
The graphical user interface is very similar to that found in legitimate Ad-Aware application. Moreover, AdDriller appears to be Ad-Aware knockoff. The tests show that this antispyware is almost the same as several other rogue products. In simple phrase, AdDriller is not written entirely from scratch, it is a clone.
We DO NOT recommend purchasing and using AdDriller!
