Spy Detector review

Spy Detector uses false positives. We have used demo version to scan absolutely clean system. The application has found 5 critical objects related to ISTbar adware and BerShare file sharing program. However, these programs were never installed to the system. The application didn't provide any information on found entries. Exact location in the registry and path are hidden in demo version. See screenshot below.

Spy Detector comes with strange activity log that includes results of previous scans, performed in September, 2004. However, we have tested Spy Detector in March, 2005 and have never installed or used it before. See another screenshot.

Realtime protection and updates are unavailable in demo version. The program refuses to remove any parasites it found and asks to register and purchase full version.

The official site is spydetector.net.

We DO NOT recommend this product.
