Spy Sheriff review
Spy Sheriff uses ridiculous false positives. We have tested it on absolutely clean PC. System scan took only 8 seconds. During it the application managed to find 9 malicious programs, including two keyloggers, two flooders, two network attack tools, one mail bomber, a nuker and an adware. The program didn’t provide adequate information about detected parasites and their exact location. Apparently Spy Sheriff doesn’t check the system at all. See screenshot below.
Spy Sheriff refuses to remove any malware it found and asks to purchase full version. Nevertheless, its vendors call it a trial. As you know, the real trial includes full functionality, but works only limited time. Free version of Spy Sheriff definitely is not a trial. See another screenshot.
Some users report that Spy Sheriff secretly installs third-party software that damages the system and violates their privacy. Security experts say that Spy Sheriff is a parasite itself. You should take a look on this page: http://www.lavasoftresearch.com/spywareno.shtml
The program is promoted with the help of aggressive and deceptive advertisements. It is often installed by various trojans and through some web browser exploits.
Spy Sheriff is the same program as SpywareNo! and SpyDemolisher. It uses exact spyware definitions database, has identical interface and produces terribly similar results.
