Myluckysites.com virus. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

removal by Ugnius Kiguolis - - | Type: Browser hijacker
12

Why you should stop using Myluckysites.com?

Myluckysites.com virus is very similar to Luckysite123.com, Trotux.com or Amisites.com. It has been added to “browser hijacker”[1] category because it can affect your web browsers in no time, and change some of their settings to make you to encounter one website over and over again. If your browsers have been affected, you will definitely know the name of the site this potentially unwanted program (PUP) wants to promote. In most of the cases, Myluckysites.com pushes you to use it as a search engine but provides modified search results that feature paid third-party links which have already been blocked by Google.[2]

Of course, when you search for something on the web, you want to get results that meet your expectations and accurately respond to your search query. Well, this search engine might disappoint you because it seeks to generate pay-per-click revenue rather than make users’ happy. Beware that Myluckysites.com search engine might serve third-party results that point to infectious, phishing, or simply deceptive websites that want to swindle money from you or infect your computer with certain malware. It does not mean that this is the aim of this search engine – it only provides search results that MIGHT be untrustworthy.[3] A fact that can also lead us to thinking that this tool can be considered untrustworthy is that this search engine does not provide privacy Policy and Terms of Use documents which are important legal documents. Make sure you don’t waste your time dealing with it and remove Myluckysites.com from the system once it tries to hijack your searches. For that you can use Reimage.

Myluckysites.com redirect virus

Unlike the real Google search which is the leader among search engines[4], it concentrates on how to increase pay-per-click revenue rather than try to respond to user’s inquiry accordingly. It means that it might insert untrustworthy third-party links into search results just because owners of these sites sponsor the developers of this redirect virus. Not all links provided by this search are dangerous, but we believe that it is better to remove Myluckysites.com browser hijacker and rely on a different search tool. What is more, you will find out that it is not that easy to delete this URL from homepage settings because it is not only a single link that banishes your browsing experience. To complete Myluckysites.com removal, you need to find and uninstall the program that controls it.

How can I avoid this browser hijacker?

If you have never downloaded this browser hijacker but now it resides in your computer system, you might start thinking that your computer was hacked/severely infected, etc. Do not think so; simply, Myluckysites.com hijack happened. Potentially unwanted programs like this one spreads via software bundles, which can be downloaded from various mass-file sharing websites.[5] Whenever you want to download a certain program, try to find the most reliable-looking site to get it from. What is more, be careful when installing it. No matter what kind of program you try to install, select Custom or Advanced settings for the setup. Some people think that these settings are complicated and that it is easier to rely on Standard or Default ones that are pre-marked as “recommended.” Please do not choose these settings. The ones we recommend will allow you to modify components of your download, and in most cases, you will find out that your selected software caused MyLuckysites.com redirect problems and similar issues right after installing it. You have to deselect these recommended programs to finish the installation without adding them to your PC.

Myluckysites.com removal options

There are two different methods to remove Myluckysites.com virus. If you wish, you can try to remove it manually. It is not as easy task to uninstall this browser hijacker manually. However, experienced PC users should not have problem with that. Besides, you can use automatic elimination method for MyLuckysites.com removal. It is especially recommended if you worry about your computing skills. In this case, make sure you select a reputable anti-malware software, update it to its latest version and command it to check your computer system for you.
