what is the problem with my web browser? I am using Google Chrome, and recently it just started to deliver an excessive amount of ads to my screen. I know that these ads come from Cupuacu Labs, because they are labeled as “Cupuacu Labs ads” “ads by Cupuacu Labs” “Cupuacu Labs deals” and so on. Please explain what’s going on. Is this is some kind of a virus?

It seems that you installed Cupuacu Labs adware some time ago. Adware is a name of an ad-supported potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) category. Such software is meant to secretly track your web browsing activities and deliver fake ads based on your interests.
Unfortunately, even if ads by Cupuacu Labs adware seem to bring superb online shopping deals, you should not rely on them. In most of the cases, such ads are meant to cause redirects to untrustworthy or even possibly malicious websites. Although Cupuacu Labs PUP is not classified as a virus, it can expose your computer system to a variety of cyber-risks.
