Hey there! I’m reading up on GandCrab ransomware cause I got mega infected. I forgot to take a pic of the desktop background which is the bit that said GandCrab, I think it said V 5.0.4 anywho the info here says thy use random 5 letter extensions but mine is 7 letters? and the ransom note says nothing about amounts or time or Tor, just that my files are decrypted and to send my code to an email

keep in mind that hackers do not stay still and update their viruses every week or month to keep their business alive. In this case, it might be that you are infected with the newest version of Gandcrab 5.0.4. However, security experts have already published the free decrypter for this version, so, once you remove the virus, try this tool. If you do the opposite, the ransomware can initiate yet another encryption campaign.
