Hi, my files have been renamed for some suspicious reason! They all have .fear extensions now, too. I hope you guys can make me realize what happened. Something happened to my files and I cannot open them anymore – this is the first suspicious thing that happened. Besides, a program called Krypte was launched and it displays some suspicious text written in a foreign language that I cannot understand. What is this and what should I do now?

Krypte ransomware is a malicious virus. If you have found .fear extension files on the system, then your files have been corrupted already. At the moment, there is no way to recover them. This virus typically targets German-speaking computer users, but as we can understand, you do not speak this language. You have two options now - you can either remove Krypte virus and restore your data from a backup, or pay the ransom and hope that authors of this ransomware will help you to recover your files. Please do not pay the ransom, no matter if it seems small to you. Cyber criminals make thousands of dollars each month, and the number of ransomware attacks only increases because victims pay the ransom when they need their files. This encourages cyber criminals to continue their activities - they even seek to involve other people into them. If you can, fight back against ransomware attacks and refuse to pay the ransom that such viruses demand.
