IE AntiVirus – fake security software that could cause a lot of damage
IE AntiVirus (also known as IE AntiVirus 3.2) is a rogue anti-spyware program – a fake malware remover, which uses scare tactics to intimidate the user into buying its fake full version. This bogus security tool is a clone of MalwareBell, FilesSecure, and IEDefender.
Having said that, it's no different than any other rogue on or off the list: IE AntiVirus uses trojans, such as Zlob or Vundo, to enter the system, upon which it uses popups and fake system notifications to falsely inform the user that his/her device is infected and therefore needs an anti-spyware program to dispose of the imaginary infection. Please don't fall for this trick, as this is nothing more than a scam.

After installing a fake security tool, it will immediately pretend to scan your whole device and find tons of imaginary hazardous infections. It will display them not only in bogus virus reports but also in fake system notifications. Please note that there's nothing wrong with your computer apart from IE AntiVirus being on it.
To safely remove it, you might have to reboot your device in Safe Mode with Networking and download a proper security tool. If the bogus software has altered your system files, your device might exhibit abnormal behavior, such as crashing, freezing, etc. Revert these changes by performing system diagnostics with compatible software.
Uninstall from Windows
Uninstall from Windows 10/8:
- Type Control Panel into the Windows search box and open the result.
- Under Programs, select Uninstall a program.
Uninstall from Windows 7/XP:
- Click on Windows Start > Control Panel (Windows XP users should click on Add/Remove Programs).
- In Control Panel, select Programs > Uninstall a program.
Remove the unwanted program:
- In the Programs and Features window, look for any recently installed suspicious entries, select them, and click Uninstall.
- If User Account Control appears, click Yes to confirm, then complete the removal.
