Using Linux Mint 17.3, on an Asus EeePC Netbook 32 bit. Using Chromium as my search engine, and Duckduckgo as my browser. The issue every time I log in to my search engine, Duckduckgo asks to be installed and its already installed. Did I miss something during the install, or is this just web spoofing?

The problem is that Duckduckgo default browser in Linux is not set as a primary search engine. That is why it asks to install every time you launch the browser. We would like to suggest using trusted and legitimate browsers (Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer}. As for the search engine, Google will do just fine. In fact, Duckduckgo operates as a potentially unwanted application. It provides altered search results and more advertising content in comparison with Google or Bing. What is more, it might be more vulnerable to outside threats. You can uninstall it with FortectIntego.
