Hi, I have scanned my PC with antivirus several times already but it fails to detect counterflix virus. Does this mean that my antivirus is not “professional” or good at any point? If so, what would you recommend doing? I am tired of these pop-ups and banners that appear on every website… “by Counterflix” is written on all of them, and this is why the program that sends these ads to me is called counterflix.

CounterFlix is actually a highly annoying spyware-type program that collects data about your interests and shares them with third-parties. Based on such data, it and third-parties get a chance to analyze trends and provide ads based on user interests. If your computer started to send you ads with "by CounterFlix" slogan, you should immediately scan your PC with anti-spyware or anti-malware software and detect all of CounterFlix's remains. Clicking on these ads won't do any good, because they might link to highly untrustworthy pages. The content of external websites, according to this program's Privacy Policy, does not concern this company and therefore users are advised to check legal documents of those external websites before interacting with them.
In fact, it is hard to remove CounterFlix. You are not the first user that complains about CounterFlix and that it is impossible to remove it. We must say that not all antivirus programs are capable of detecting spyware type viruses, so you should try using anti-spyware or anti-malware software instead. That doesn't mean that your antivirus is bad - it simply is a different kind of a product.
