Hello, my computer’s screen is locked and I see the message that I should buy some Google Play gift cards to decrypt files. Is this some kind of ridiculous virus or a joke?!

You should not buy any gift cards. Free-Freedom ransomware is supposed to be a file-encrypting virus, but it's not entirely true. It does not encrypt them; it only locks them. You can restore your files by using the password "adam" and entering it in the lock screen. Then, you should see active "Decrypt My Files" button.
Then, your files are restored, you should scan your computer with FortectIntego or other reputable malware removal program and get rid of this computer infection. If you need additional help, feel free to follow our prepared Free-Freedom ransomware removal instructions.
Sincerely,
