Here’s the situation.. My PC is infected and it has Hermes ransomware on it. It says that I can get a decryptor software if I pay someone in Bictoins. How do I remove Hermes virus and protect my PC? Obviously, I need my files back, too.

Unfortunately, we have to say that you have been attacked by a very dangerous computer program, known as Hermes ransomware. The virus functions like this: it encrypts files on victim's computer, transfers the decryption key on its servers, and aggressively commands the victim to pay a ransom to cyber criminals. Sadly, we cannot help you with data recovery, although there are some tools that might help you with this problem. The only thing that we can advise you about is that you shouldn't pay the ransom - cybercriminals often do not care about victims, therefore at the end of the day you might be left without money and files. We suggest you remove Hermes ransomware using comprehensive instructions and use standard data recovery methods. All information that you need is provided in this article: Hermes ransomware virus.
