I attempted to remove the spyware with instructions online. When I run software for removal nothing happens. System just sits idle. Is there any other way to remove this?

First of all, you should be aware that all these viruses keep updating in order to prevent their elimination from the system. However, if you are a paid customer of Spyhunter, you can easily get a support for your virus removal from its support team. This program has a built-in Helpdesk inside, so submit your question there and wait for a respond from its support (it should take 24 hours or less).
If are not using a paid version of SpyHunter, try running alternative security programs (Malwarebytes Anti-malware, Spyware Doctor, Hitman Pro...) because they have a slightly different virus database.. Besides, before you launch your anti-malware, you can try to reboot your PC to Safe Mode/Safe Mode with Networking and kill all randomly named processes on the Task Manager.
