is my computer infected with ransomware? because I think it is! All signs indicate that it is a ransomware virus, as much as I know, these viruses encrypt files and make them inaccessible. Well, this is exactly what this virus has done to my files. They have .thor file extensions now, and I cannot open them anymore. I want to know how to remove thor virus from computer and restore files, if that’s possible, of course.

We are afraid that your computer has been compromised by a new ransomware dubbed Thor. It is a crypto-ransomware Trojan, which renders data useless and asks to pay a ransom in exchange for a decryption software. Sadly, only authors of this ransomware know what the decryption key is, and there is no way to guess it or brute-force it (technically, there is, but it would take ages to find it). Thor file extension virus is extremely dangerous, and it should be uninstalled from the system ASAP. Use FortectIntego or a similar anti-malware program to remove this virus - it is not a regular program, and we do not recommend you to attempt removing it manually. To find informative removal instructions, please see this post - Thor ransomware virus. How to Remove? (Uninstall Guide).
