TappyTop ads Removal Guide
What is TappyTop ads?
Should you rely on offers that TappyTop presents?
You might start thinking that TappyTop virus is a severe program that corrupts content on the websites that you visit by injecting banners, in-text ads and sending pop-ups with promotional content. Besides, it is going to change your homepage address to Search.TappyTop.com, a vague search engine that delivers untrustworthy results, which are filled with sponsored hyperlinks. There is no surprise why so many users rush to stick a “virus” label to ad-supported programs – they act suspiciously, and usually there is not a lot of information about such programs online. Good news is that you can remove TappyTop ads quickly, as this potentially unwanted program (PUP) does not have actual virus features and it can be uninstalled rather easily. The removal guide is given below, but first, let us explain how this ad-supported program works.
It is easy to allow programs like TappyTop hijack your PC without even realizing it. You can give permission to install them just by trusting pre-selected setup settings while installing another program. We are going to explain how to prevent this from happening later. Now, if you have already given an invitation for this PUP to enter your computer, find out how it works and what exactly it does on the affected computer system. Upon arrival on the victim’s computer, this adware adds an extension to the web browser, changes homepage settings and starts gathering information, for instance, where do the victim go while on the Internet (browsing history), what links and ads catch his/hers attention and lure into clicking on them, how much time the user spends on certain sites, search history, and similar data. Then it tailors ads to meet user’s interests and starts displaying them without stopping. It seems that this ad-supported program is programmed to display a certain amount of ads per day in order not to annoy the user too much, but these ads can still be bothersome, besides, they can be dangerous. Keep in mind that by clicking on third-party ads you risk entering shady sites that can contain insecure content. If you do not want to risk exposing your computer system to potential dangers, avoid clicking on flashy ads, installing unknown programs or downloading updates, or providing your personal information. All in all, it is better to remove this ad-supported application from the computer system as soon as possible as it might expose your computer system to cyber threats. TappyTop removal can be completed with an anti-spyware program, e.g. FortectIntego.
Infiltration methods
Typically, potentially unwanted apps promise to provide some vague-sounding features, so computer users hesitate whether they should install them or not. Therefore, their developers have to use other techniques to trick users into installing these apps. The most efficient software distribution method that helps them to achieve this goal is called software bundling. Here is how it works – they bundle their questionable programs with other, popular apps, and spread them together. When the user downloads the “popular” program, he MUST check its installation settings and disapprove the installation of all optional applications. Otherwise, these additions will be installed automatically. It is a must to switch installation settings from Default/Standard to Custom/Advanced and deselect permissions to install them. Now that you have discovered how did TappyTop PUP hijack your PC, let’s move on to the removal instructions.
