Remove USB Locker ads (Removal Instructions)

removal by Olivia Morelli - - | Type: Adware

What do you need to know USB Locker virus?

USB Locker adware might seem to be a useful app at the first sight because it promises to allow the user to adjust access mode for USB storage devices. Sadly, in reality, this program cannot be trusted because it falls into potentially unwanted programs (PUP) category, and is assigned to spyware category. As we have already stated, it functions as an adware-type application, which means its primary target is to collect data about user’s browsing sessions and serve intrusive web ads.

The first thing that USB Locker does once it gets installed on the computer is that it incorporates tracking cookies into web browsers and starts observing what the victim is interested in. For example, it tracks what websites does the computer user visit, what ads lure him/her into clicking on them, and what search terms does the user use in web searches. Then this ad-supported application summarizes the collected data and picks certain advertisements to display. These USB Locker ads can show up in various forms, typically pop-up ads, in-text links, banners, and so on. Keep in mind that these ads by USB Locker might seem useful, but it would be risky to consider them trustworthy. Some of these ads might connect you with untrustworthy websites once clicked, so be careful! Unreliable web pages often provide catchy-looking ads, “useful” links, suggest free apps or software updates. We would like to warn you that such content can be dangerous to your computer system, so make sure you do not download anything from sites that look at least a bit suspicious to you.

How did this program hijack your PC?

You have to understand that potentially unwanted programs are not viruses and that they cannot infiltrate the computer system without your approval. To make users install such programs, their developers bundle them with other free programs. When the user downloads such free program that contains, for example, USB Locker app, he/she might possibly install it without even realizing that it was bundled with an additional program. To refuse to install such additions, the user must go to installation settings and configure them. It is important to switch installation settings from Default/Recommended to Advanced/Custom. When an extra menu appears, stating what optional apps can be installed along with the main program, the user has to remove checkmarks next to permissions to install them. Choose a proper web browser and improve your safety with a VPN tool

Online spying has got momentum in recent years and people are getting more and more interested in how to protect their privacy online. One of the basic means to add a layer of security – choose the most private and secure web browser. Although web browsers can't grant full privacy protection and security, some of them are much better at sandboxing, HTTPS upgrading, active content blocking, tracking blocking, phishing protection, and similar privacy-oriented features. However, if you want true anonymity, we suggest you employ a powerful Private Internet Access VPN – it can encrypt all the traffic that comes and goes out of your computer, preventing tracking completely.

Lost your files? Use data recovery software

While some files located on any computer are replaceable or useless, others can be extremely valuable. Family photos, work documents, school projects – these are types of files that we don't want to lose. Unfortunately, there are many ways how unexpected data loss can occur: power cuts, Blue Screen of Death errors, hardware failures, crypto-malware attack, or even accidental deletion.

To ensure that all the files remain intact, you should prepare regular data backups. You can choose cloud-based or physical copies you could restore from later in case of a disaster. If your backups were lost as well or you never bothered to prepare any, Data Recovery Pro can be your only hope to retrieve your invaluable files.

USB Locker is hardly useful. Its just not worth it – the ads are so annoying and the quality of app features is just not that great.

Targeted advertising can be tricky… I have been convinced to click on a banner that took me to a site that advertises rogue anti-spyware program. Dont trust annoying ads that show up everywhere, its just a sign that your computer is infected.
