Vista Guardian 2010 is a rogue secuirty application that reports either false or grossly exaggerated infections/threats and shows many fake security alerts on the compromised computer. This fake application must be manually installed, however it may come bundled with other malware as well. Once installed, it will scan your computer and display a list of false threats or infections. Then it will “push” you to pay for a full version of the program in order to remove the non-existing system security threats.
Vista Guardian 2010 is promoted and installed through the use of Trojans, browser hijackers and other malware. Once your computer is infected with this bogus software, you will see many security warnings and notifications from Windows Task bar stating that your computer is compromised. While running, the bogus software will supposedly scan your computer and display a variety of threats that won't be removed unless you purchase the software. As you know, the scan results are absolutely false, you can safely ignore them.
