This tool is not easy to terminate because some files or even associated programs possibly remain on the device. What program did you use for system scanning? Anti-malware tools can sometimes skip such files and leave behind crucial applications that affect the removal process and initial performance of the machine. Also, such PUAs often edit registry entries and startup preferences that keep it running on the PC for longer.
You should do the following before employing an alternate AV tool:
check the web browser for suspicious applications installed without your permission;
reset Chrome, Firefox, Explorer to default.
Do that with all your web browsers no matter if the PUP is only affecting one browser. Those extensions, toolbars and other add-ons can affect the intrusive behavior of the WinThruster itself.
After this, get another AV tool, alternate program and scan the machine again to eliminate all traces of the PUP that may be left behind.
