Remove Booksearch2Go (Improved Guide)

Booksearch2Go virus – why does it deliver annoying advertisements?

If you have recently installed Booksearch2Go, you probably have noticed that this program is ad-supported. Although the developer of it, Snt App LLC presents the program as a small and fast freeware that provides numerous book search engines on the Internet for both used and new books, you should not rely on such description. Our research has shown Booksearch2Go is an adware-type software, and it means it is a potentially unwanted program (PUP).

While browsing the Internet with Booksearch2Go adware running on your system, you will receive pop-up ads and also see banners on the websites you visit. While some of Booksearch2Go ads may look ridiculously untrustworthy (for example, ads that claim you have won something), others look quite tempting (coupons, price comparisons, and similar online shopping offers). We want to warn you that the majority of ads by Booksearch2Go carry delusive hyperlinks leading to suspicious third-party websites. These ads are designed to look captivating and tempt the victim to click on them. However, that is just a trick used to drive web traffic to particular websites, because Booksearch2Go initiates web rerouting and opens websites that it wants you to visit. We must warn you that some of these ads might redirect you to highly suspicious or even malicious web pages. If you ever end up on websites that ask you to provide personal information, don’t. Also, stay clear of web pages that promote supposedly official Java or Flash player updates. Software updates offered by untrustworthy web sources can be malicious!

Questions about Booksearch2Go

Take note that Booksearch2Go PUP collects your personally non-identifiable information to deliver targeted ads. It might track your browsing activity, downloads, and recent search queries to find out what information do you look for while browsing the Internet. However, think whether you want to reveal all search terms you use for some suspicious ad-supported software, especially if you are not the only one who uses the compromised PC. Remember that other users will receive ads based on your recent search queries. If you do not want that to happen, consider uninstalling Booksearch2Go. You can use Reimage Reimage Cleaner Intego or another reliable anti-spyware software for that.

How did Booksearch2Go hijack your PC?

If you did not download this program from the Internet (it has an official website), the chances are, you have installed it without even realizing it. Booksearch2Go virus spreads alongside other free programs, which present it as a “recommended download.” When installing new programs, look for agreements to install these “recommended downloads” in Custom/Advanced installation settings. They will be pre-selected for you, so you have to deselect them. In fact, that is all you need to do to avoid installing suspicious PUPs alongside your preferred program. Therefore, you can proceed with the installation.

Access your website securely from any location

When you work on the domain, site, blog, or different project that requires constant management, content creation, or coding, you may need to connect to the server and content management service more often. It is a hassle when your website is protected from suspicious connections and unauthorized IP addresses.

The best solution for creating a tighter network could be a dedicated/fixed IP address. If you make your IP address static and set to your device, you can connect to the CMS from any location and do not create any additional issues for server or network manager that need to monitor connections and activities. This is how you bypass some of the authentications factors and can remotely use your banking accounts without triggering suspicious with each login.

VPN software providers like Private Internet Access can help you with such settings and offer the option to control the online reputation and manage projects easily from any part of the world. It is better to clock the access to your website from different IP addresses. So you can keep the project safe and secure when you have the dedicated IP address VPN and protected access to the content management system.

Backup files for the later use, in case of the malware attack

Computer users can suffer from data losses due to cyber infections or their own faulty doings. Ransomware can encrypt and hold files hostage, while unforeseen power cuts might cause a loss of important documents. If you have proper up-to-date backups, you can easily recover after such an incident and get back to work. It is also equally important to update backups on a regular basis so that the newest information remains intact – you can set this process to be performed automatically.

When you have the previous version of every important document or project you can avoid frustration and breakdowns. It comes in handy when malware strikes out of nowhere. Use Data Recovery Pro for the data restoration process.
