Is News-cuvasi.cc ads dangerous?
From our report of Dec 2021 · not reviewed since
News-cuvasi.cc is the program that causes constant ads and redirects when the PUP runs in the background
News-cuvasi.cc is a site that tries to trick people into allowing additional content and notifications from other sites.
It uses push notifications and other spam content that redirects your traffic to advertising pages and suspicious or even damaging platforms. Advertisers rely on such adware programs because with their help promotional material can be accessible to various users.
However, this exposure to malvertising and misleading content is not valuable for the people themselves. This is why experts recommend staying away from any ad-supported sites and removing the PUP from the system until serious damage occurs.
This is not malicious or damaging to have the PUP on the machine. At first. Eventually, applications like this cause real havoc to your machine and continuously trigger unwanted behavior.
Those intrusive News-cuvasi.cc ads are only one of the few issues caused by the program. It gets the push notifications virus name for the reason.
News-cuvasi.cc is considered intrusive and annoying because it manages to enter the system undetected and causes issues with the performance immediately. The site delivers fake error messages and pop-ups, tricking you into subscribing to its spam notifications and other content. It can cause redirects to other sites and services too.
These pop-ups on the web browser can state that you need to allow the notifications, and this way, you can see what is displayed on the page or follow with the browsing. Unfortunately, any interaction with those pop-ups can cause redirects and other issues created by the News-cuvasi.cc PUP.

Remove the adware properly
should not click anything when any of the pop-ups appear.
These browser pop-up messages encourage people to agree to changes and content, but the PUP is intrusive enough to make any interaction count as agreement and start the redirects immediately after the News-cuvasi.cc ads get clicked.
These messages can state various things like:
If you want to stop this behavior as soon as you notice the issue with your device, you need to run the anti-malware program to find and terminate anything that is related to the adware. The behavior of News-cuvasi.cc redirect and all the speed issues, additional browser add-ons, or applications are controlled by the PUP.
You can scan the machine using or and find every malicious program and file that affects the security of the system. The antivirus detection programs locate any suspicious programs and help clear the machine from cyber threats of any kind.
These adware programs are browser-based, however, so even the full PUP removal cannot help to get rid of the constant notifications. You are required to manually control some of the preferences.

Take care of the web browser changes
News-cuvasi.cc program affects most of the popular web browser tools.
PUP can alter settings, cause changes to the default homepage, new tab settings and install additional extensions to add-ons to even further affect what content users get exposed to.
You need to take care of those issues by directly checking the browser for suspicious applications and changing those desktop notification settings, so the redirects stop completely. In some cases, when the PUP runs for a long time it gets difficult to remove the intruder, so make sure to rely on the guide for all the additional tips.

If you have a difficult time while trying to get rid of those desktop notifications and News-cuvasi.cc ads, you might want to reset the browser that is affected fully to default. This way you can get rid of anything that got installed behind your back and stop those redirects, pop-ups completely.
The silent intruders are annoying because of the issues that get created without your knowledge. PUPs manage to infiltrate the machines when users install freeware from insecure sources like deceptive pages, torrent services, similar platforms.
Advanced and Custom options could help disclose the list of programs, so you see what applications are included alongside the program you intended to get in the first place. If you choose proper sources or official developer pages, you can be sure that software bundling is not happening. However, people go for fr sources and skip through steps, so News-cuvasi.cc ads and other programs spread around easily online.

Stream videos without limitations, no matter where you are
There are multiple parties that could find out almost anything about you by checking your online activity.
While this is highly unlikely, advertisers and tech companies are constantly tracking you online. The first step to privacy should be a secure browser that focuses on tracker reduction to a minimum.
Even if you employ a secure browser, you will not be able to access websites that are restricted due to local government laws or other reasons. In other words, you may not be able to stream Disney+ or US-based Netflix in some countries. To bypass these restrictions, you can employ a powerful VPN, which provides dedicated servers for torrenting and streaming, not slowing you down in the process.
Data backups are important - recover your lost files
Ransomware is one of the biggest threats to personal data.
Once it is executed on a machine, it launches a sophisticated encryption algorithm that locks all your files, although it does not destroy them. The most common misconception is that anti-malware software can return files to their previous states. This is not true, however, and data remains locked after the malicious payload is deleted.
While regular data backups are the only secure method to recover your files after a ransomware attack, tools such as can also be effective and restore at least some of your lost data.
Questions about News-cuvasi.cc ads
How do I stop notifications from news-cuvasi.cc?
Remove its permission in the browser. The bottom line of each notification names the browser, so open that browser's notification settings and look under Allowed. Remove news-cuvasi.cc and any other site you do not recognise.
In Chrome and Edge this is under the site settings for notifications; in Firefox it is under Settings, Permissions and data, Notifications. Do this in every browser profile, because each one keeps its own list.
Restart the browser and wait a few minutes. If a message still arrives, read its bottom line again: the sending address can differ from the site you remember, and that is the entry still left in the list.
Did a notification from news-cuvasi.cc infect my computer?
A notification cannot infect a PC. It is a short text with a link that the browser displays. Clicking it opens a page, and a page cannot install anything unless you agree to a download and run the file.
So the answer depends on what you did after clicking. Looked and closed: you are fine. Downloaded but did not open: delete the file.
Opened a downloaded file: uninstall what it added and scan the PC. Typed card or login details: contact the bank and change the password. In every case, remove news-cuvasi.cc from the browser's allowed notifications so the messages stop.
Why does News-cuvasi.cc show me ads?
Because that is its whole purpose. News-cuvasi.cc is a push-notification spam site, and its operators are paid for every ad it displays and every click it gets. In this case the ads take the form of desktop notifications.
They are chosen by ad networks that accept almost any advertiser, which is why so many look like warnings or prizes. The ads are not a sign that your PC is broken or infected with something worse; they are a sign that something on it, or in the browser, has permission to advertise. Removing that permission or program stops them.
Is news-cuvasi.cc safe to visit?
No. The site news-cuvasi.cc exists to push visitors towards ads, and the pages it leads to include fake virus warnings, fake updates, prize scams and notification prompts. Visiting it once does not infect an up-to-date PC, but anything you click or download there is a gamble.
Do not enter personal details, do not allow notifications and do not call phone numbers it shows. If it opens by itself, close the tab and check the browser's extensions and notification permissions. Blocking the single domain helps little, because the operators register new names regularly.
Which browser is sending the news-cuvasi.cc notifications?
Each notification shows the name of the browser and the site in its small print. In the cases we saw, the messages from news-cuvasi.cc came through Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Permissions are stored per browser and per profile, so removing the site in one browser does not affect another.
If you use several Chrome or Edge profiles, check each one. If you sync the browser with an account, remove the permission while signed in, otherwise another computer may still hold it and keep receiving the same messages.
How do I know the ads come from News-cuvasi.cc?
Look for notifications from news-cuvasi.cc. That is the trace News-cuvasi.cc leaves, and it shows up as desktop notifications. Ads that appear on every site, including ones that never carried ads before, point to something on your PC or in the browser rather than to the sites themselves.
A quick test is a private window, where extensions are off by default: if the ads disappear there, an extension is responsible. If they appear even with the browser closed, the source is a notification permission or a program in Windows.
I clicked on one of the ads. Am I infected?
Probably not. Clicking an ad usually only opens a page, and a page cannot install programs on an up-to-date Windows PC without your help.
You are at risk only if you then downloaded and ran a file, allowed notifications, entered card or login details, or called a phone number shown on the page. Delete any download and run a full and offline scan.
Change passwords you typed, from a clean device. Call your bank if you gave card details. If you called a number or allowed remote access, see the next question.
Did clicking Allow install anything on my PC?
No. Allowing notifications stores a permission in the browser and nothing else. No file is downloaded and no program is added to Windows, which is also why antivirus scans find nothing. The risk comes later, from the notifications themselves: they lead to scam pages, fake updates and phishing forms.
Remove the permission in each browser where you allowed it. If you clicked a notification and downloaded something afterwards, delete that file and run a Microsoft Defender full scan and offline scan.
An ad showed a phone number and I called it. What now?
The number belongs to scammers, not to Microsoft or an antivirus company. If you only talked, hang up and do not call back. If you let them connect to the PC, disconnect it from the internet, uninstall the remote access program they used, such as AnyDesk, TeamViewer, ScreenConnect or UltraViewer, and run a full and offline scan.
If you paid or gave bank details, call your bank at once on the number printed on your card. Change any passwords you typed while they were connected, and report the call.
Will Fortect remove News-cuvasi.cc?
No program removes News-cuvasi.cc itself, because there is nothing on the PC to remove: the notifications come through a permission saved in the browser, and only the browser's settings take it away, as the steps above show.
What Fortect can do is check the rest of Windows. Its free scan looks for malware, unwanted programs and damaged system files, which is useful if you clicked the ads, downloaded something from the pages they opened, or are not sure what else changed on the PC.
If the scan finds nothing and the notifications stopped after you removed the permission, this problem is solved. Use Microsoft Defender as a second opinion whenever you have downloaded files from pages like these.
