Remove WinSecurity (Easy Removal Guide)

removal by Jake Doevan - -   Also known as Win Security | Type: Adware

Question: My computer was hijacked by Win Security. How could I remove this PUP from my computer?

Win Security and its typical effect on your computer:

Similarly to WebCheck and WinGuard, Win Security (or Win Security) can be installed on the system as a useful tool. This program is promoted as a totally useful browser add-on that is capable of enhancing your computer’s security and protecting it from various viruses. If you really need a tool for that, you should think about an updated anti-spyware because WinSecurity comes with the whole package of capabilities that may lead you to various issues.

If you know what does the term ‘adware’ means, you shouldn’t be surprised after noticing WinSecurity ads right after installing this application on your computer. These advertisements tend to appear in a form of notifications, banner ads, pop-ups and other errors. As far as we know, this program is spread in a form of add-on that is specifically designed for German users; therefore it displays ads mainly written in German. In addition, you may also expect to see system slow downs, redirects and similar problems. If you have already noticed ads by Win Security, take into account that they may neither seem annoying, nor suspicious. However, beware that some of these ads may try to redirect you to questionable websites. By the way, ad-supported programs are also designed to track people and their browsing habits, and send this data to related parties. This method helps for third parties to select interesting ads and increase the possibility of tricking you into clicking their ads. So, before installing Win Security on your computer, you should think about what you can get from this. We believe that the answer is clear – nothing. If you want to remove Win Security adware from your computer, you should run a full system scan with ReimageIntego or other reputable anti-spyware.

Win Security

How does WinSecurity hijack computers?

WinSecurity can be found on it’s official site winsecurity.net. However, as our security experts warn, such programs should never be downloaded because it is very likely that they will initiate lots of annoying activities on the system. In addition to that, Win Security and similar adware programs, including WebCheck, WinGuard, and WebEnhance, are usually spread via freewares and sharewares. To be more specific, potentially unwanted programs are integrated in other programs as additional attachments. Consequently, if you are installing this program, you can also download various adware-type applications. Thus, avoid careless installation of free software because it may result in installation of adware or any other unwanted program. To prevent this, be more attentive during installation of free software. You may think that reading End-user license agreement is a waste of time; however we do not think so and we strongly recommend to read it all, because it will reveal what additional applications are bundled with the program that you are installing. It is also advisable to choose Advanced or Custom installation option and opt out of the installation of any additional applications (for instance, browser extensions, add-ons, plug-ins, etc.). If you have already noticed WinSecurity presence on your computer, please do not ignore that.

How to remove WinSecurity virus?

If you are experiencing constant Win Security redirects and pop up ads, you should think, have you ever installed this program on your computer. If you did that consciously, you should think what you get from it. If it has already infiltrated your computer in a bundle with other software (freeware, shareware and so on), do not wait any longer and use the guide below to eliminate this dubious application. If you don’t want to repeat these removal steps again and again, you should select Automatic removal of Win Security.
