Yesterday, I was browsing the Internet when an unexpected pop-up showed up. It said: Urgent Chrome Update
and literally nothing else. There was a “Download” button, too. I didn’t click it, but the site automatically downloaded chrome-update.bat file to my system. Am I infected??

DO NOT open the bat file. Delete it immediately and empty the Trash bin.
Once you perform this task, run your anti-malware software. If you do not have it, check out these reviews on FortectIntego and Malwarebytes or choose a preferable one from the "Software" page on our site.
Launch the program, make sure that it is up-to-date, and scan the system. If for some reason you cannot scan the system, reboot your PC into Safe Mode with Networking and run the system scan again.
