Association Nationale des Premiers Secours data breach
5,600 accounts · breached January 30, 2026
What happened
In January 2026, a data breach impacting the French non-profit Association Nationale des Premiers Secours (ANPS) was posted to a hacking forum. The breach exposed 5.6k unique email addresses along with names, dates of birth and places of birth. ANPS self-submitted the data to HIBP and advised the incident was traced back to a legacy system and did not impact health data, financial information or passwords.
What data leaked
- Dates of birth
- Email addresses
- Names
- Places of birth
- Salutations
What to do if you had an account
- Turn on two-step sign-in. Enable two-factor authentication where the service offers it, preferably with an authenticator app or a passkey. A leaked password alone is then not enough to get in.
- Expect targeted phishing. Leaked contact details are used to write convincing fake messages that mention the breached company or your real name. Do not click links in unexpected emails or texts about this account; go to the site by typing its address.
- Guard against identity fraud. Identity documents and dates of birth cannot be changed like a password. Consider a credit freeze or fraud alert where your country offers one, and be wary of anyone who 'verifies' you using those details.
