Quicky Translator (Improved Guide) - Jan 2021 update
Quicky Translator Removal Guide
What is Quicky Translator?
Quicky Translator – a text translation app that might bring ads to your browsers

Quicky Translator is an app used to function as a language-translation tool, helping editors and writers fulfill their duties. However, over time, its functionality simply diminished to the point that it stopped working at all; translations don't work or work inappropriately.
On top of that, it appears to be supported by advertising, so once it is installed, the screen becomes filled with f pop-up and banner ads powered by Quicky Translator. Due to this behavior, many users start referring to it as a virus, although this is not exactly a correct term to describe it.
Quicky Translator is not a virus. However, everything else said in the report provided above is true. This extension is ad-supported.
Thus, instead of providing people with the most accurate translations, it starts displaying sponsored advertisements on the websites that people visit.
Ads may vary depending on the parties that sponsor them. Some of the third-parties that sponsor Quicky Translator adware may seek to boost traffic to reputable but not yet famous online shops.
Thus, clicking on these ads can make you visit quite interesting sites that correspond to the ads' content. Unfortunately, but some of the pop-ups may be used as a medium to spread other potentially unwanted programs, such as:
- adware
- browser hijackers
- scareware
- advertising platforms, etc.
Such “Ads by Quicky Translator” may inform about missing software updates (Java, Flash Player, Download Manager, etc.), claim prize giveaways, prompt to call for remote technical support, and so on.
Besides, this extension is said to be working inappropriately. We have checked it and can firmly assert that it's an exact truth. The translations provided by this extension are neither accurate nor trustworthy.
In addition to what the user indicated, we would like to add that the Quicky Translator virus is also accused of spying on its users. As its developers (Cross T Media) note, this extension is filled with cookies and web beacons that allow collecting some pieces of information automatically.
Therefore, if you are unwilling to disclose information, such as IP address, PC's location, email address, search terms, websites visited, pages viewed, clicks, etc., remove Quicky Translator virus from the system ASAP. For this purpose, you can use FortectIntego.
You can prevent the installation of PUPs relatively easily
There are three methods that are used to spread Quicky Translator and similar adware. These are:
- Official websites;
- Bundling;
- Attractive or deceptive pop-up ads.
First thing's first – users often install apps due to their functionality, although free software can often disappoint – just as in this case. The translation is barely working, but instead, users have to endure advertisements populated on all visited websites. Therefore, it is important to rely on user reviews and blog posts before installing freeware on the system.
Bundling is another popular tactic that allows the developers to sneak their programs into users' machines without permission. To avoid this, always pick Advanced/Custom settings if such an option is provided, read the fine print, and un-mark all the checkboxes on the way.
Finally, fake updates and misleading ads can also cause the infiltration of adware and other PUPs. Thus, rely on official websites only when downloading software or applying the latest updates.

How to prevent from getting adware
Protect your privacy – employ a VPN
There are several ways how to make your online time more private – you can access an incognito tab. However, there is no secret that even in this mode, you are tracked for advertising purposes. There is a way to add an extra layer of protection and create a completely anonymous web browsing practice with the help of Private Internet Access VPN. This software reroutes traffic through different servers, thus leaving your IP address and geolocation in disguise. Besides, it is based on a strict no-log policy, meaning that no data will be recorded, leaked, and available for both first and third parties. The combination of a secure web browser and Private Internet Access VPN will let you browse the Internet without a feeling of being spied or targeted by criminals.
No backups? No problem. Use a data recovery tool
If you wonder how data loss can occur, you should not look any further for answers – human errors, malware attacks, hardware failures, power cuts, natural disasters, or even simple negligence. In some cases, lost files are extremely important, and many straight out panic when such an unfortunate course of events happen. Due to this, you should always ensure that you prepare proper data backups on a regular basis.
If you were caught by surprise and did not have any backups to restore your files from, not everything is lost. Data Recovery Pro is one of the leading file recovery solutions you can find on the market – it is likely to restore even lost emails or data located on an external device.
