removal by Jake Doevan - - | Type: Adware

What to do if you do not want to see Social Reviewer ads anymore?

Have you installed Social Reviewer virus thinking that it is a useful addition to your browser that can help to enhance your browsing experience? If so, you have been mistaken. It appears that this adware is just a vague application, which can hardly offer any serviceable features. The activity of this potentially unwanted program (PUP) is so bothersome that in most cases, users start looking for Social Reviewer removal guidelines right after installing it. In this article, we are going to elucidate what exactly this program does, why it has been created, how is it distributed and how you can remove it from your computer.

Social Reviewer is offered as a useful application that can help to track friends who unfriend you on Facebook. However, it has some additional features that might not seem so useful to you. As we have mentioned before, it is an ad-supported application, so as you continue to browse the Internet with this program running on your computer, pop-up, banner, or in-text advertisements eventually are going to show up. Sadly, the longer you keep this adware on your computer, the more annoying these ads become. The worst part about these advertisements is that at the first glance, they look reliable, catchy, and advantageous, while in reality they can be related to hazardous web pages. It goes without saying that it would be risky to click on such ads without thinking. Remember – untrustworthy ads can lead you to insecure web places that can promote other potentially unwanted programs or even more critical applications. We recommend you to stay away from unreliable content and ignore pushy web advertisements that appear on your computer screen frequently.

Questions about Social Reviewer ads

Speaking of these ads, we would like to discuss another questionable matter that you might not be so excited about. It appears that Social Reviewer adware collects data about your browsing sessions, including your browsing history, time spent on individual web pages, search queries, and so on. Based on information gathered from your activity online, it decides what type of ads to serve. Of course, if you do not want to get these advertisements and block this program so that it can not collect information about you anymore, remove Social Reviewer using ReimageIntego or a similar program.

Methods of distribution

Social Reviewer is a deceptive browser add-on, so there is no surprise that it has been promoted not only thru its official website. If you have been installing freeware or shareware without bothering what components it has, you may have also installed this browser add-on on your computer. Please, forget about Quick, Recommended or similar installation of the freeware because there are lots of adwares, browser hijackers and similar potentially unwanted programs that have been spread in a bundle. If you want to get ability to see what components are hidden in one or other freeware, make sure you select Custom or Advanced installation of the freeware every time you decide to install one on your computer. Of cause, sometimes such programs infiltrate computer without any sign. If that is the case, you should follow a guide below and solve problems that appeared after Social Reviewer hijack.
