What is Web Guard?

Web Guard is a usefully-looking program that belongs to ‘Interesting Solutions’ and is promoted as a security tool that was designed for detecting websites that are trying to collect personal information about PC users. Since it sounds as a useful service, many users have already been tricked into downloading this program voluntarily. However, in most of the cases this misleading program infiltrates computers via various free programs. In fact, it doesn’t matter how it got inside a computer because it is still not recommended keeping it on the system. Web Guard is a suspicious program that has already been labeled as an adware and potentially unwanted programs due to several downsides that it has. You should be aware that this add-on may not only fail to perform what is promised, but it may also start acting the opposite instead. Once installed, it may start tracking your online behavior itself and may share this information with third parties. Although it is stated that personally identifiable information is not gathered, such activity is implemented behind users’ back, so it might be associated with privacy violation. Besides, this program may also start displaying third party advertisements on Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer web browsers. Most probably, the user will be exposed to various coupons and deals that show up as pop-ups, pop-unders and banner ads. Please do not click on ‘Ads by Web Guard’ and similar notifications because you may be redirected to unsafe website and led to the infiltration of other adware-type program. In order to avoid this, you should scan your computer with a reliable anti-spyware and remove Web Guard as soon as detected..

How can Web Guard hijack my computer?

Web Guard is promoted thru its official site that offers users to download it for free. However, as you have already understood from the previous section, we do not recommend doing so. The biggest problem is that this browser add-on is often bundled with various free programs that might be distributed both on reliable and questionable download websites. So, there are hundreds of PC users who have fell into downloading this application inadvertently while installing free programs on their computers. In fact, there is a long list of programs that are spread using similar techniques, such as Insta Share, Astro Arcade, DesktopDock and many other. To avoid installation of such programs, you should always select and install free programs very carefully. Always take your time and read End-User License Agreement and Privacy Policy. Besides, if possible, select Advanced or Custom installation mode, which will allow to deselect additional components, such as add-ons, plug-ins, toolbars or extensions. Never accept to install additional programs especially when you are not familiar with it. If it is too late and wWeb Guard has already infiltrated your system, do not allow it to cause serious issues on your computer and remove it as soon as possible.
