What is Wishapp and what is it doing on my Mac?

Wishapp virus is a hazardous program that should not be kept on your Mac operating system. Although it claims to be an advantageous instant messaging application for Mac users, it seems that it has been developed with entirely different intentions. Security experts claim that it is nothing but yet another annoying adware (a potentially unwanted program used to display third-party advertisements). We found it suspicious that could not access Privacy Policy and Terms of Use documents on its official website – these legal documents are typically provided on every legitimate Internet site.

Although Mac computers are known for their fast performance, it seems that this adware application can slow them down significantly. It uses the Internet connection to communicate with its ad server, from where it loads Wishapp ads to display. These ads might appear on user’s screen in pop-up windows, show up on random websites as banners or in-text links, full-screen ads. Every time when such ads show up, the user needs to close it to make it disappear. However, this is not going to fix the problem – the intended ads might start to appear more and more frequently every day. If the user wants to stop them, he needs to clean the computer from adware that has infiltrated into the computer system. To remove Wishapp, use anti-malware application, for instance, Malwarebytes Anti Malware or Reimage.

Wishapp hijack

If you are interested in these ads, please bear in mind that they can take you to insecure web pages. Some of these sites can promote malicious programs, spyware, or just provide links to other dangerous websites. Careless clicking on ads and links can lead to infectious sites and expose your computer to cyber risks. One click on an infectious link can result in execution of malware on your PC.

How does this program spread?

Wish app does not seem to provide its download link on its official website. However, such potentially unwanted programs often are distributed by other free programs, so be aware of what you install on your PC. Try to avoid downloading suspicious applications from shady-looking Internet sites and P2P file sharing networks, and if you do – make sure these programs do not contain any “surprise” components. You can check that by selecting Advanced or Custom settings during installation and looking through the list of “recommended” downloads. If you see any entries that raise your suspicion, opt them out. In most cases, it is enough to deselect these entries and proceed with the installation.

How to prevent Wishapp ads from appearing on your screen?

If Wishapp hijack has already occurred and now you want to clean your computer, follow instructions that are provided below. Wishapp removal must be implemented immediately to protect your Mac and to make these annoying ads disappear once and for all. Use one of the following programs to scan your Mac system and find all suspicious apps and optional files that should not be on the computer system. Then just remove them with the program and use your computer without worries. In case you want to delete this parasite manually, follow these Wishapp removal guidelines:

You can remove Wishapp automatically with a help of one of these programs: Reimage, Plumbytes Anti-MalwareWebroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus, Malwarebytes Anti Malware. We recommend these applications because they can easily delete potentially unwanted programs and viruses with all their files and registry entries that are related to them.

This virus has infected my computer about a week ago. I have tried to remove it, but I couldnt. i have decided to download Reimage to try it, Ive got the full version. I am satisfied and cannot complain – it appears that it does not only remove malware but also works as a pc optimizer. It deleted this virus for me. Thanks for recommending this program to me 🙂

Could not remove this with my antivirus, but deleted this manually. I am better at malware elimination than my antivirus is, haha
