Got a pop-up on my Windows 10 desktop this morning saying Windows Security found a problem and I should click to fix it right now. It looked shaky, like a bad idle noise, and it kept blinking. I closed it with Task Manager. Is that a scam pop-up, or could it be the real thing? What should I check next?

Got a weird e-mail on my Windows 10 PC this morning. Said my Microsoft account was locked and I had 24 hours to verify or lose access. The sender looks off, and the link smells bad. I didn’t click it. Is this a common scam, or should I check anything in Windows or my account?
