I attempted to do a restart in safe mode but when my laptop came back on Windows 10 , my 4 digit pin no longer works. What now?

Thank you for your question. We are sorry to hear you are having trouble with your computer. Whether you manage to boot your PC or not depends on which Safe Mode you choose. There is a simple Safe Mode option and there is Safe Mode with Networking. If you have chosen the latter, we suggest you try booting your system with Safe Mode without networking. Most viruses, especially ransomware are dependent on the Internet connection because they are controlled via Command/Control servers. So, if you cut this connection, the virus should be decontaminated and you will be able to access your computer. If this strategy works, makes sure you scan your computer with an antivirus utility immediately. We suggest doing that with FortectIntego.
In case you cannot connect to your PC through the Safe Mode, you might be involved in a some more serious trouble. In this case you may have to reinstall your operating system. Please keep us informed about your progress!
