Hi, I have noticed some suspicious changes on google chrome. It seems to be sending much more ads for me now; plus, it is named Chroomium Browser, although it looks just like Google Chrome does. I do open my browser as usually – via a shortcut on the desktop. Is everything ok with my computer?…
Why my browser has changed name to Chroomium?

We assume that your computer has a Chroomium Browser adware installed on it - it is a potentially unwanted program (PUP), which is not a good application at all. It pretends to be a Google Chrome browser while in reality it is a fake and modified copy of it. This bogus application replaces Chrome shortcuts and places its own copies instead of it.
It is a good thing that you have noticed the slight difference between the real Chrome browser and this fake one. We recommend removing Chroomium Browser as soon as possible as it is an entirely useless program. You can read more about it here: What is Chroomium Browser? ( Removal guide included)
