We use a Toshiba Satellite M115-S3094 Notebook virtually 24/7.
We're protected against Spyware with Spyware Doctor, which is incredible at
nipping spyware on the fly, and if anything manages to get through via
ActiveX, Spyware Doctor will kill it at the next startup.

We also use Norton Firewall and Norton Anti Virus. Operating a computer
without protection against spyware, "viruses," intrusion, and personal info
reporting is asking for trouble. You WILL get bitten, and if you think that
you're saving money by not purchasing security software then I ask you how
much your hours of time spent debuging your computer are worth.

Before you download any application, especially free software (yeah, it's
free because they like you), go to your favorite search engine (ours is
Yahoo!) and type in the name of the application followed by the word
spyware. You'll be amazed at what's out there.

So avoid the "toolbars," the "Smileys," the beautful animated wallpaper
(unless Claria turns you on), and all that other garbage that's designed to
transfer money from your bank account into someone else's bank account as
efficiently as possible. And DO install the above-mentioned security
software.
