To: Customer Support at Spyware.com,
I wish to know if you are able to offer any advice on how to safely remove the following virus as when the issue was reported to IBM they were unable to help.
The issue is with what appears to be a virus on my PC laptop as I have been unable to delete a pop up box with details of an error message for an online banking security software programme that appeared to be working fine for some considerable period of time. As a result my welcome screen has changed and I am unable to shut down as usual from the Windows icon button on the status bar. The error message is for the Trusteer / Rapport anti virus software programme and attempts at reloading the programme from the Santander website have failed. The name of the error message with the pop up box is: LocalBridge.exe – Bad Image.
Yours faithfully,
Martin Scappaticci

As far as we understand, you are using IBM's advanced protection solution, Rapport. It is a legitimate application that is designed to protect users from online fraud and phishing attacks relating to financial malware. However, the claim about the virus is unreasonable, as issues you are describing are purely technical, although IBM should be able to help you if the error is related to its software.
LocalBridge.exe – Bad Image error is related to a corrupted file located on your machine, and you can get it fixed relatively easily yourself. To find out more details, you can check the following article (solution number 1 helped users the most, so please try cleaning up your junk files. Ensure that Setup log files, Recycle bin, and Temporary files are marked before performing a cleanup).
Good luck,
