Sorry if this is an old question but....
I've been infected with virus protect pro and can't shift it.
I've tried AVG, Ad aware, Spybot, Superantispyware, spywaredoctor and spynomore (All the free versions) A few of them have detected the problem but won't remove it til i give them some cash. Something i'm a bit adverse to do as i feel this virus is holding me to ransom as it is.
I've found some long complicated instructions to manually remove it but i don't understand them at all with my limited computer knowhow.
Any help from those in the know would be GREATLY appreciated as i'm really worried that i could be spreading this virus around so am scared to use my internet and e-mail.
Thanks

hello there
all the security software you have mentioned are pretty good and they should be able to remove virus protect pro thing. try to download updates and then scan your computer again. all of your security software have a button on them like 'update', 'download updates' or 'check for updates'. if they still won't delete virus protect pro try the manual removal instructions.
check the manual virus protect pro removal. it's not so complicated if you use the help articles. i'll try to explain them for you. first of all you need to kill malicious processes, so open up killing malicious processes article and follow the steps given. to delete registry entries, follow manual removal of registry entries and so on. don't worry, all the needed tool are included in windows system. tell us how it goes _________________ I reccomend spyware doctor and malware bytes as ultimate protection. |

Cheers Bobby.
A couple of days after i posted super anti spyware updated and seems to have killed off the problem (Fingers crossed)
Certainly a package i'll be keeping on my pc as AVG, SPYBOT and AD-AWARE were doing nothing.
Anyway. All's well now. Let's hope it stays that way. Thanks again. _________________ I am TERRIBLE with computers. Keep it simple. PLEASE!!! |
