help me get rid of spyware2.5

Ok, I have no idea what it is or how i got it, but it won't go away. I've been looking it up on the net and it looks as tho its relatively new. How do i get rid of spywarestrike2.5? Some one please please help me. McAfree doesnt seem to be off any help at the moment.
Someone please help me - i suck at technical computer stuff and am just 17 and on a gap year away so i dont know who to turn to for immediate help cos im in a new area. desperately hoping for an answer thru this. Thank you!

You can download the HijackThis program, run a system scan and post your log here. I will analyze the log and come up with a solution for you.

hey i'm having the same problem, whenever i start up IE it goes to about:blank then goes to a site called http://www.perfectedsecurity.com/. None of my scanners can pick it up (mind you they arent that great) but yeah if you can help me get rid of it it'd be heaps cool.
